Logged Descriptions  (logged by 23 users)ByDate of Ascent
Drove dirt road ~1km past Bunnahabhain Distillery to park just short of covered reservoir (NR 4093 7341). A round of 6 hills, Margadale Hill and the two Creagan Corr's first, then across to here. Strong westerlies and heavy rain made the going difficult.jonglew13/05/2022
Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log: With Clochandighter and coinea. Second pillar in a three pillar circuit. Approached from southwest. Parking for a few vehicles where the public road ends at NR302708. Up via Gortantaoid Point continuing along the coast route until it crosses a bridge over the Doodilmore River. From there the route turns towards the hill, ascends and gets easier on higher ground once above the boggy areas. Open deer grazing top. Pillar in good condition.thejackrustles11/05/2022
Last top visited on an outstanding linear bagging walk from Bunnahabhain to Loch Gruinart. Great feeling of remoteness and isolation up this end of Islay and excellent views over to assorted other islands in the distance.Alex C02/04/2022
Came over from Margadale Hill, south of Loch Smigeadail, skirting Creagan Corr. Solo.Dangerous Dave01/04/2022
Across the footbridge and along the grass track that makes the ascent of Sgarbh Breac a doddle, then SW across tussocky grass and minor peat hags to Margadale Hill. A pretty direct line to the south shore of Loch Smigeadail, then contoured around to reach the southern slope of Sgarbh Dubh, up which it is easily climbed. We doubled back to bag the two featureless summits of Creagan Corr before heading over to Giur-bheinn's NE top and for more majestic main summit. Once round Loch Guir-bheinn Deana spied a large gate along the forestry fence line, which once duly climbed through/over gave a grassy/sphagnum descent to a stone track leading back to Bunnahabhain. 5hrs.summitter14/05/2021
