Clockwise circuit of King's Cave Trail from the car park. From high point of path cut up through the trees and over the stock fence to the trig point then went straight down outside wood to path (thick header and dead bracken - OK going down but would be unpleasant going up). Finished off trail past the caves and then back over through the wood. Nice views over to Kintyre and over the island.StueyB26/01/2024
From the King's Cave car park with Harvey (the dog) leaving the path when level with the lochan. Easily up through the trees but awkward getting through the small foliage at the top of the forest. Found a spot in the fence where the barbed wire had been removed.hillsman28/11/2023
From Blackwaterfoot, using the trail past The Doon to the King's Cave complex along the shoreline. Then the trail to the forest car park. At the forest edge a faint path at NR 88666 31015 leads up for 190m steeply through bracken and heather to the trig on the summit. Returned to join the forest trail down to road, following it to our rental at Cairnfield. With RP. 6.5km, with 190m of ascent.Man of Kernow103/09/2023
With RobN and Luna. CCW Loop on King’s cave walk, cut up to summit from path in forest at NR 88822 31237. From King’s Cave CP NR 89776 31477.masmith15/07/2023
From the Kings Cave car park and through the trees from the path high point.Chris Peart13/07/2023
Walked up from the Kings Cave route up the line of the trees in five minutes. Easy bag. Then along coast path to Blackwaterfoot. Great view.nickywood102/05/2023
An unexpectedly easy detour from the usual waymarked circuit, as Colin has noted. We left the path at NR 8885 3122 and the lines of trees are pretty much aligned perfectly to get to the sparkly white trig.milimana12/09/2022
Second visit in the course of a coast to coast walk between Blackwaterfoot and Lamlash. The summit is easily gained through tree tunnels from the King's cave path, thus avoiding summer vegetationColin Crawford25/08/2022
Straight up East from the gate on the King's Cave path. Glorious view.DavieRuts18/05/2022
Coastal path from Blackwaterfoot, taking in the impressive geological features to the King's Cave with its Victorian graffiti, then up to the trig point, through heather for the final 200m or so.summitter09/02/2022
This hill can be done from Shiskine in the 2.5 hours between the buses from and to BrodickKiltie08/09/2021
Nipped along red path from King’s Cave car park then at the forest break headed to open hillside, over the barbed wire fence and up to summit. Trig looks fairly recently painted.assynt_bob08/03/2020
Bus to Shiskine, then walk to cave carpark, clockwise round trail to high point then straight up through mature trees to summit near forest edge then back to Blackwaterfoot via the Doon which is maybe a P20 and a better viewpoint. My 2,999th TuMP. Back to Brodick on the bus.Thearlaichdubh15/11/2019
Kings Cave circuit clockwise with Annette and Phil/ Up the fence from the gate. Trig recently painted.Mountain Goat12/10/2018
Enjoyable walk from car park via northern path down to King's Cave.Didn't fancy steep bracken and heather so went back along path until level with lochan. Then easily up through gap between trees.catman16/09/2018
Quick visit after a drop off from Jon at the forestry car park. Unfortunately not enough time today to have an explore of the King's Caves.Alex C20/11/2017
Lovely forest walk in the sunshine from the Kings Cave car park, took a left along the red route to the gate and then up the steep slippy bank to the lovely white trigpoint which was shining out in the sunshine. Fantastic wee hill with wonderful coastal views.thejackrustles18/11/2017
Sunny walk from car park with Smudge. Parked at caves car park and went up left path till gate and then steep up fence line to trig returned the same way.Dugswell216/11/2017
Circular walk taking in the top on the way. Cut through the forest easily to regain path. Nice coastal stretch.jenx16/11/2017
Revisited with Dugswell.Smudge16/11/2017
With Jenx and Bryher from Caves CP to East. Did an anticlockwise circuit of forest, fine views to North. Along coast to caves down at beach level, interesting. Back up path and before woods up the fence line to trig. Easy to hop fence and descend through trees to path at GR 88899 31212 without height loss and back to CPnordicstar16/11/2017
from cp good path then up through trees.robertphillips15/05/2016
From Corrie i took the North Island bus and got off at the King's Cave car park and like others took the trail through the forest and on emerging onto the moorland took the steep route upto the trig. Nice clean trig. Great views out to Kintyre. Descended and continued on to visit about 6 of the King's caves before taking the footpath to Blackwaterfoot..Dazingdale14/05/2016
Lovely circuit to King's caves with Fraser and Suzy.andy06/09/2015
Kings cave path, with moraBLACKHILL07/04/2015
Longer approach from Blackwaterfoot golf course recommended. Injured tourist helicoptered to hospital from cave.jimbloomer19/05/2013
Picked up this hill to bag the trig. Good carpark on the road 3.5km north of Blackwaterfoot and a good forest path leading down to the Kings Cave on the coast. When the path exits the forest a short, but steep, diversion eastwards from the path leeads to the summit. After returning to the path it is worth continuing on down the cliff path to visit the impressive sea caves.jonglew14/05/2013
Up through trees from waymarked path with little difficulty. A very rough moor.fasgadh17/10/2011
A diversion en route NR 898 314 to Blackwaterfoot.summitsup20/05/2010
heathery summit, see S8732. RHW03/04/2010
Evening trig spotting whilst staying near Lagg. There's a car-park to the E and forest trail to King's Cave on the coast. Followed this till it emerged from the forest, then steep ascent up deep heather to trig.Aye Jimmy26/07/2009
Used new clockwise path from marked car park till edge of forest, then up short, steep slope.agentmancuso11/04/2008
