Walked up from Clate | Crib Goch | 22/05/2023 |
Raced up and down the hill to get an earlier ferry back than planned. Ridiculous to be on Whalsay for only 65 minutes. | Kiltie | 05/09/2022 |

As foot passengers on the ferry, along the road through Sandwick and up the track to the summit. Descended over heather between the lochs, then back along the road to Symbister. Lovely day. | LizH | 28/08/2021 |

From end of public road, walked along a good track. Good summit views. | ger | 16/06/2019 |
Parked just beyond the gate where there is space for a car opposite the barn. Great vantage point in most directions. Limited to the east by substantial military building. With Barbara. It was her birthday and I know how to spoil a lady. A cruise to Whalsey. | Campbell Singer | 11/06/2019 |
Day spent on Whalsey for my birthday. Pleasant easy hill despite the military ruins. | Barbara Singer | 11/06/2019 |
Squeezed this Hump/SIB in after bagging 2 lighthouses on the island with Sarah. Not bad tally with only 1hr 25mins on island between ferries. | assynt_bob | 04/11/2018 |
Drove most of the way, walked the last 100m or so. HP is behind the large brick-built WWII building. | jonglew | 26/08/2018 |
A wet and manky day, so a visit to Whalsay. Easy to drive up the gated track to park by a building, then a short stroll to the trig and on to the summit behind the building. | Gill | 26/08/2018 |
A short walk to the highest point of Whalsay, visited mainly to spend time driving around to get photos for Geograph (e.g. of Britain's most northerly Golf Club). | David Purchase | 13/06/2016 |
Vanessa Trig 10523, separate cairn/ wind shelter, but HP on grassy hummock behind former WW2 'Home chain' early warning radar buildings- a fascinating story of technological development. We accessed from NE over heather but it appeared there was a gravel track from the SW | Denise | 26/04/2016 |
Foot passenger w Jenx and walked from port to top of this one via pleasant lanes and sea views. Day started fine but deteriorted rapidly once we'd made the top trig, high point round back of old military building. Bit mess on top! Walked back via NE path to Lochan and t'other road into town. | nordicstar | 03/06/2013 |
Early morning bag with Tricky Speirs then on to bag the other trig and 3 other TuMPs. | Dugswell2 | 01/06/2013 |
Group of us walked up from the pier prior to an OIut Skerries etc trip - and were surprised to discover the highpoint hiding round the back of an old wartime bulding, maybe 2m higher than trig base. | RHW | 30/05/2013 |
Symbister circular. | Smudge | 28/05/2013 |
Parked at HU547610. According to my Explorer map the trig is 119m with natural ground nearby at 122m, not 120m as listed. Highest point is hidden behind the reservoir wall unfortunately - HU55043 61477, although this could have been the soil heap from reservoir. Good view of Noss Head. | Martin R | 10/05/2012 |
