With AGS FPs. a bit boggy at the start on B951 but good trail once we got above the forest. Returned by Loch Beanie and Caterlan trailslynch08/04/2024
Cloud base has risen nicely after this morning's visit to Mount Blair and the views to the bigger hills northwards are well worth hanging around here for a little while longer to enjoy fully.Alex C02/10/2023
Parking area off B951, just west of gate to new forest track (currently not on OS maps). Followed good road uphill then firebreak through newly planted conifers to deer fence. Climbed deer fence then followed stone wall over Cairn Derig to summit. Followed wall back to gate in deer fence then down via boggy fire breaks to rejoin forest road. Solo.Dangerous Dave02/07/2023

Up through forest and down fence line from the B951rhalstead18/06/2022
Circuit from entrance to Broughdearg farm track (having discovered that the ford marked on the OS Explorer map N of Tigh na Coille is apocryphal!). Over the stile from the Cateran Way and up a steep heathery gully to the summit of Creag na Bruaich, then pleasantly up Duchray Hill's W ridge to the summit, returning below Creag na Bruaich.Nick Down121/01/2022
2/3 After Monamenach. Met couple at summit. Down by E ridge, dropped into Glen Beanie – slightly rough/damp at bottom but not a bad route.Cycled up to Fergus after. Time includes 23m cycling. Rounsfell05/11/2021

From good parking on the forestry track at 149644 on the Dalnaglar road. Track only shown on newest 1:25K map but goes easily up to the edge of the forestry. Off piste easily (grass, short heather) to cross the wall to a good path just below Carn Derig, then to summit. Fine views and basking in the sun at the top.Gill16/04/2021
From B951 up S ridge. New forest track across the bog helped on the way back.quadbarrel07/11/2020

Parked near the county boundary and ascended by the side of the forest, over Cairn Derig. This is very wet lower down. From Cairn Derig, by the side of the wall to the summit. Walk continued to Creag na Bruaich. With JT.Sprog16/08/2020

Creag na Bruaich, Duchray Hill, and Care an Fhidhieir, starting and finishing at the road up to Dainaglar Castle (a rather smart gaff). Followed the Cataran trail (seeing an Osprey fishing the pond) before heading onto the hills. Took around 3hrs in total.summitter17/08/2019
Under blue skies in base layer only (amazing given forecast was torrential rain) up forest rack then short heather to wall. Followed path to summit, visiting cairn for view, then came back by wall/fence until I could see new scar below me and just dropped to it and back to car.SS27/07/2019
From Mt Blair, dropped down to road and up by earthworks. Chilly on top. Descent via wall and edge of forest back to car on Angus/Perth boundary.MichaelF18/05/2019

After Mount Blair, from B951, based on a way suggested in the SMC guide to the Grahams. A gate on the E edge of a plantation gave access, over a tiresome section of bog. Once the ridge materialised, with a fence all the way, the route became pleasant, with rocky patches near the summit. Indeed, from the B951 summit, the hill has a much more rugged appearance than Mt Blair. returned via Carn an Fhidhleir, keeping on pastures and avoiding anything that looked boggy (most of the open valley between the ridges). Gates gave access all the way down to the B951 50 yds below the Balloch farm gate. Cloudy but fine. With Pete.pwheeler26/03/2019
Up good track with parking on the minor road to Dalnaglar castle.cjo16/09/2018

Left Jenx at Dalvanie (she'd done this before) and went solo up track, crossed before deer fence and angled up easy ground to bealach/deer gate. Steady slopes then to summit wall and top. Cairn set back with views to Spittal of Glenshee hills. (Had to return back up from the col below for 2nd time as had left cap at summit, grr!)nordicstar29/06/2014
