From CR at end of South Brae road, track N to rubble barrier on left, across this to slight ridge, then S between broom and trees to obvious summit, passing two fire circles en route to Summitter's cairn. | Nick Down1 | 29/12/2023 |
Car park at end of South Brae road from Lennoxtown. Bagged this tump first via track then a short hop through the veggie matter, then on to the trig, which has a path to it (not on map) Sure this hill must have decent views to the highland line, but not today. | hils | 20/10/2023 |
From cp at end of South Brae road. Made very heavy weather of this one.
Best to use google maps satellite view and take track North from cp til you get to piles of rubble and follow grid ref from there. | colazione | 09/07/2023 |
From the end of the driveable road. Warned by a dog walker that an old man had been seen in the area earlier and that he had no clothes on from the waist down. Luckily did not meet him! | Crumblie2 | 02/03/2023 |
Near ride up from Lennoxtown. Easy walk from road to the east over stony ground (site of the quarry) except for the last couple of metres - wire like brambles over rotting logs. The cairn is still there. | fasgadh | 26/01/2023 |
The summit point is not simple to determine due to fallen trees and loose boulders. I've added a small cairn to my best guess. | summitter | 05/08/2022 |
Walk from Lennoxtown, visited trig as well | hillsman | 16/04/2022 |
North from the Lennox Forest Car Park. Visited the trig to the south-west on the way back. | JAdair97 | 28/12/2021 |
Bus and walk | hillsman | 25/03/2021 |
From Newlands. 10minutes to top then down past spooky buildings to cycle track and onto Dunglass.
Difficult going over tussocky moor directly back to car. | lordtonult | 01/12/2020 |
Note that there is no quarry any more, its all been filled in. Soil is firm enough at present, so not a barrier. | Belfarm | 04/11/2020 |
Slept in the car at the CP to the south. Started off in the dark. The quarry is being filled in with soil and stones. Despite overnight rain, it safe to walk on. | Campbell Singer | 09/10/2020 |
Short walk direct from CP. Summit could be tricky without a chainsaw in future due to rapidly growing densely packed spruce seedlings. | sclater | 08/03/2020 |
Parked at road end to south and good track to quarry. New trees planted on top, s o could be fun in a few years. With C. | PeterD | 19/05/2019 |
Long circular walk from Milngavie. Summit area clear felled since my last visit a few years back | Colin Crawford | 23/12/2017 |
parked at the end of the minor road, up forestry track to the quarry. | robertphillips | 03/02/2017 |
from John Muir way via bridge at 613746. Follow obvious forest roads to summit which is a good viewpoint now that the trees are being felled. Spy on Celtic FC training ground on way down. | Thearlaichdubh | 25/01/2017 |
Parking restricted due to forestry operations although none seen during the quick walk to the summit. | neimcv | 09/01/2017 |
Warm, sunny, calm and good views. | iangalbraith | 29/05/2016 |
Visited trig as well. | hillsman | 25/02/2016 |
From parking place at end of road. All the trees in the current summit photo have been felled long ago - which confused me when I first arrived at the summit quarry. | Minto | 29/08/2015 |
Ran up from Anne's house in Balmore and visited trig on the way. | stever | 23/08/2014 |
P at jnct due S of summit. Top is a heap of soil. Can't see the original surface. Just west of barbed wire fence. | chrisbien | 06/02/2013 |
The highest point is now definitely the spoil tip from quarry excavations, possibly slightly higher than the natural hill was. Visited nearby trig first and bagged this on the way back. | andy | 15/10/2011 |
Work was going on around the summit. Given the amount of earth moving going on it is possible the summit has shifted! The highest point I could find was a probably temporary mound of earth, perhaps slightly east of the listed GR. | campagvelocet | 24/10/2007 |
From road end to SE, last Yeaman on LR64. | agentmancuso | 11/01/2007 |
densish spruce, summit at edge of ex-quarry. park at tk jct to S | RHW | 28/12/2004 |
