Parked as others and walked up road to head up to quarry. Had chat with rather dour farmer on way (got the feeling he isn't too keen on access rules) then headed on. Straight up from quarry then over bwf at corner and into trees. Headed out much easier and found a hurdle that avoids bwf on way down. GR worth noting are NS 90791 22028 for the hurdle and NS 90653 21987 for entry to trees and a relatively easy line within. | SS | 27/03/2023 |
Parked at forest entrance to South. Up by the burn then across pasture land, over fence, wall, fence to enter forest at 9067722077. Shortly after the trees thin and easy to high point. | NormanW | 11/01/2022 |
Parked in wide forestry entrance, just SW of the 286m spot height (NS 9087 2120). Walked NE on road ~330m then took farm track NW initially then over rough pasture to tree-line. Summit in a small clearing ~50m into trees. On to Fagyad and Craighead Hills. | jonglew | 07/01/2022 |
Parked at forest entrance to south. Followed vague path up the hill, turned right at the fence, found a surprisingly easy way though the forest a few yards after the bend in the fence. | Wycombe Wanderer | 31/12/2021 |
Followed the forestry track. Summit only possible through very thick forestry. | DrumalbinView | 25/03/2021 |
From Craighead Hill. Top could be anywhere in the trees tbh! Final South Lanarkshire HuMP. | benalder284 | 28/12/2020 |
From parking at wide track entrance near plantation. Up the side of plantation to the bend in fences (barbed) & wall. Entered via the small fire break past another fence, then more directly through the trees to clearing and several possible highpoint within radius. Wet 1/2 | N.Morters | 15/11/2020 |
Parked NS 90859 21229 end of track, down road to gate through up track to gate then right up atv trck for a short distance the straight up by old quarry to double fence then summit in trees. | Anton | 28/08/2020 |
Last hill of the year and a perfectly blue sky sunset! With B and R. | jenx | 31/12/2019 |
Parked at the end of the forest track to the south, then up over mainly short grass to the edge of the forest. Difficult to see a good route in to the summit, and crept between the trees. Found an easier and more direct route straight out towards the light at the edge of the forest from the clearing. | LizH | 09/10/2019 |
From S. Steep climb then thrash around in trees on hot sunny morning | RobertP | 28/05/2018 |
From Fagyad hill. High point in forest but hard to be sure precisly where. | cjo | 09/09/2017 |
Mossy and indistinct HP amongst pines, very close to edge of plantation. No views.Accessed via firebreak marked on 1:25, then continued to Craighead Hill. | Denise | 18/04/2017 |
As others p forestry road south. | robertphillips | 23/12/2015 |
Ample parking at forestry road entrance.

Up through steep field, over bwf and disappeared into forest for random search for summit in dense and quickly maturing sitkas. | Campbell Singer | 12/10/2015 |
Fairly pointless diagonal across field from edge of forest at 908213. wandered around in forest looking for high points and found none of significance. 40 mins incl 15 mins wander. 6th of 6 in day. | Thearlaichdubh | 14/03/2014 |
Parked at entrance to forestry road then into field for easy ascent on frozen ground. High point on forest edge was where my legs sank to near knee level to give me wet feet. Then into forest to check for high point...not much difference. | Dugswell2 | 19/02/2012 |
I thought smallish clearing at NS 90614 22025 was highest point, 487m GPS, positional accuracy 3m. From NNE, follow edge of forest til just past summit then in, with care can squeeze between young sitkas. | RHW | 22/10/2011 |
Parked at start of forrestry road. Entered field at gate leading to track upto quarry. Up grass then into the forest along fire break at 917 220. Into trees until couldn't see any higher ground. | chrisbien | 24/07/2010 |
