From bridge over Crawick Water for Nether Cog. Parking both at the cattle grid and bridge entrance. Up the obvious track. East flank has been recently felled, short pull up the remains of the zigzag firebreak over bwf to top and nearby large cairn. Fine views down Nithsdale to Solway.N.Morters04/11/2023
Parked close to Knockenhair farm. Followed the edge of conifers up the hill. Nice open top with grand viewAndrew Simmons16/09/2022

Obvious parking a few hundred m S of Clenries. Followed line of wood, then crossed electric fence. NW to field high point at edge of wood, keep right to avoid the slurry, and ride marked on 1:25K map to nearly summit.Minto19/11/2021
From the little wood on the left before Clenries. Through a firebreak on to the summit.NormanW19/11/2021
Roadside verge parking (NS 8043 1252). Took track round top of Whyte's Moss, a bit covoluted but finally hit the break at NS 7965 1301. Took a different break making a way across to Conrig Hill.jonglew14/03/2021
From our holiday cottage at Lochside, with Andrew.richtea504020/07/2020
Parked just south of Knockenhair farm, on gravel opposite a gate. (No-one at the farm to ask permission to park there) Across two very boggy/muddy fields and through gates onto the hill. Better walking higher up. Good views.LizH05/02/2020
P at bridge just S of Nether Cog. Track to W of hill. Up firebreak, along fence then over where there was a short bit of non-barbed wire. Top is not the cairn.chrisbien17/11/2016
Parked at knockenhair farm up side of trees to top.robertphillips21/03/2016
From the farm of same name in twilight and rain. Bit of a mudbath.Martin R07/01/2014
I thought rushy grass 27m NNE at NS 79176 13331 (399m GPS) slightly higher than cairn at NS 79165 13305 (398m GPS) but visibility poor - no distant horizon. GPS positional accuracy 3m. From SE, keep L of 1st plantation, R of 2nd, soggy rushy pasture then ride NW RHW22/10/2011
Parked near end of track to Nether Cog. Visited trig on Conrig Hill, then on to Knockenhair. Up firebreak from SE, back down firebreak to ENE.agentmancuso26/09/2008
Living in Sanquhar as a boy this would be one of the first hills I ever climbed. Memory says that I walked from the town up to the reservoir at The Clenries and from here walked up the south east shoulder to the summit. Descended the steep slopes to the front to Knockenhair Farm and back to Sanquhar by the road.3 kinnears10/08/1975
