South Drumtochty car park. The obvious route is blocked by hundreds of fallen trees and impossible to get through. I managed to find the trig by coming around from south of the 355m point on a good path. Unfortunately, mntainman suffered an injury and did not make it to the top. I bagged the hill and met him back at the car. | Dangerous Dave | 04/10/2023 |

To avid any fallen trees opted to,start from northern ( minor ) road, where the planted trees ended. Climbed a high deer gate (;which could have opened ) , traversed hill side following a v v vague atv ish track. This then strated to go uohill. This enclosed area has been planted with many pine trees , maybe now 2/3 yesr old. My aim was spoton, as i summited where a fire break is shown on 1:25 mapping. Another gates with a walkers swing door. Down a clear break, turn east and walk alomg a wet damp clear break. Then north until high point. Look left. g point found. Return same way. | VerySlowPlodder | 05/07/2023 |

From South Drumtochty car park. Route as per Isbjorn.
When on the link path there are a couple of junctions. At the 1st crossroads where there is a post to the right I turned right, the path appeared to be going slightly in the wrong direction but then curved back. Then you will hit a T junction I turned right again it seems to go not quite in the right direction but does eventually bend to the left up the hill and meet the end of the track. | JulieB | 04/11/2021 |

Parking by spot height 173 to NNW. Excellent MTB trail from gate at NO 6838 7939 to turning circle. Right here to forest edge NO 6866 7877. Then steeply up fence line on rough grass to forest gate. About 100m thru' mature conifers to mapped track NE to trig | carole engel | 07/08/2021 |

Started from small parking area (NO 71213 79687)- South Drumtochty. Followed mixture of forestry tracks and mountain bike tracks to summit, which is totally surrounded by tall pine trees.

An easy peasy, nice-n-easy hill - the key is to find, and use, the link path-track between NO706793 and NO701788 - shown on 25K map, but not on 50K map. No parking seen near other reported starting point of NO683794 that, IMHO, is acceptable, so parked in FC car park at NO712796, signed 'South Drumtochty'. Up the incline, hangar L under power lines, R at fork, cut back R at 2nd junction, then, after 100m, link path goes off L - moderately steeply up to join E end of highest level summit track. Along this to highest point then R on MTB ride and cut L to trig. No anti-social parking, no steep rough grass, no burns or gullies to cross, no fences to cross, no bashing through trees - all but last 0.1 percent is on good forest tracks. I commend this route to the House (of Baggers). | Isbjorn | 26/05/2019 |

From parking at GR 684793 in between two grassy tracks. Up the path at the edge of the forest. Went too high and trees closing in, so crossed stream and contoured a gully to get onto the open hill. Up to the corner of the forest as others, slightly tussocky in places, then easy enough through the trees to the track. Up this, then a foul quagmire of a firebreak, unsuitable for MTBs but used by them anyway. Thankfully not far to the trig, which is hidden in trees, the path to it marked by a small cairn. Nice valley, messed up hill. | Gill | 04/11/2018 |
