From the bridge over the railway on the road to the SW, using part of the mast track and part of the ATV route to the high point.NormanW14/11/2021
Verge parking opp Cold Chapel Farm (NS 9366 2474). Field gate ~40m S along the road, then straight up onto White Hill, across to Tewsgill Hill then a near enough direct line across to here, making use of a good quad track off the Roman Rd starting NS 9509 2309. Dropped down to minor rd through the clear felled Southwood Plantation. Pleasant 9km round.jonglew04/10/2021
Using 2 cars, a nice linear walk, which saved 4km of road walk back. Up firm grassy track to mast then onto Castle Hill, Tewsgill, Hawkwood, Rome, and Sowen, and down to Normangill on windfarm road.Minto01/10/2021
Linear walk (2 cars). Mast track onto Castle Hill, Tewsgill, Hawkwood, Rome, and Sowen. Weather much better than forecast. Fine and dry though showers all around. Blown along the ridge! With JW, B,B and R.jenx01/10/2021

Parked at Raggengill Burn as others then track, sheep trods and ATV tracks to summit. Cut back across the flank of the hill.SS15/09/2019
Good place to park by the Raggengill Burn - also a good track from here. Soon left the track and headed straight up Raggengill Hill - mostly on short grass. Walked across to Castle Hill, where there is a wide view - pity about the wind turbines. Headed for Tewsgill Hill.JohnW09/04/2019
From Abington car park with Debs and Tali enroute to Nettie's for new year.Mountain Goat29/12/2018

See Tewsgill Hill. Heavy rain on descent gingerly downhill on slippery grass to a col and steeply up to Raggengill Hill to get my bearings. Used GPS to judge that the top of this hill was 800m away. Used buggy tracks every so often if they were going the way I wanted to. To the top at 15.20. 4 stones in a modest pile marked the top. Rain and the cold wind spoilt what is probably a nice view. Constant noise from the motorway at the foot of the hill.arranc11/05/2012
Park car in Abington CP as minor roads very icy. Ascend as described by Chris B. before returning over Raggengill Hill and Castle Hill. Lovely cool bright blue sky day with yesterday's snow still on frozen ground. Top is to north of pile of stones.Dugswell219/02/2012
