Road from A702 to Bleakfield, below which is a ford and small wooden bridge over the Lamington Burn and onto the brackeny slopes of Broad Hill. Sheep trods help with the subsequent climb to the summit. Once back at Bleakfield a number of options to Startup Hill present themselves. I chose a line through sheep pasture south of a forestry block. Once onto open hillside it's just more bracken and gorse. Returned to Lamington Church CP by direct descent to Baitlaws.summitter20/07/2023
From parking in Lamington. Up the road to Baitlaws. Through the gate onto hill, took grassy track right then series of sheep paths to summit. 1/3N.Morters30/10/2022

From Lamington car park up lane to Baitlaws then track west then south west and sheep trods to summit. Excellent view of Tinto. Returned same way to avoid crops above Hillhouse.SS21/06/2021

From small car park NS 9786 3088 (did initially drive down towards Bleakfield to investigate parking roadside around NS 9853 2978, but not really viable and it's signed as a private road after Baitlaws). Field gate just past Hillhouse (NS 9801 3058) gives onto a paddock, near enough direct route from here to top of hill.jonglew29/07/2020
Parked in the good car park, half way between the main road and the church at Lamington. Pleasant walk up the lane, then through the gate at the bend in the road by Baitlaws cottage. Up on short grass and sheep tracks through well spaced bracken. Lovely views towards Tinto. Good little hill.LizH16/06/2019
Gate from road behind Baitlaws Cottage gives easy access to the hill. Back same way. Solo.Dangerous Dave21/01/2019
