From Craik Forest car park (NT 3465 0792). Good forest road NW, then NE veering N to NT 3448 0941, then straight up the clear fell and through immature conifers... other routes are available! On to Ewelair Hill and return for a 11.2km round.jonglew26/03/2022
Followed Campbell Singer's very useful instructions. Paths up off the second track are now rough vehicle tracks from felling activity, but the route still works out. Found a clear mountain bike track after approx 140m, rather than 100m, at NT34102 09485, giving a pleasant final section to the summit(s).LizH16/04/2021
CP at Craik. Track to 3442 0928.Steeply up rough track to 3432 0631. Turn right and rough track joins the top track @ 410m. Path goes to both tops. Back to top track and long walk to Ewelair.chrisbien31/08/2020
P Craik, followed route outlined by Campbell, which hasn't been affected by ongoing forestry work.agentmancuso25/05/2019
From SW as per Campbell except shortcut path immediately after crossing burn; seems most direct route not involving a bushwhack higher up: I'd planned a more direct route involving the mapped firebreaks but checking top of upper break at NT34000938 it seems not to exist. 2 highpoints close to path with a dip between, found no trace of mapped fire tower. Was keeping this for an easy milestone HuMP but plans moved on and it's not the worthiest hill, but a nice little exped all the same. 9 GB HuMPs left now including 3 sea stacks.RHW08/04/2018
Same route as Campbell, although I didn't read his entry in advance.Martin R08/03/2017
parked at locked gate then used campbells route. thanksrobertphillips07/07/2016
Trouble-free ascent, thanks to Campbell's instructions.mae04/02/2016
Parked at well signposted car park at Craik. Cars seriously discouraged from going further. Take forestry track north west and 100m after crossing Aithouse Burn turn sharp right along another superb track. At NT34422 09286 a faint path leads up hill into new forest. At NT 34326 09314 the path hits a better path in replanted forest. Turn right, slightly downhill and then curving north and then north east uphill to a traversing track at NT34216 09582. After approx 100 m there is a hidden mountain bike track that goes off to the right. If you reach the picnic bench, you have gone 50m too far. Follow cycle track to a junction with another track and turn left. Summit is 200m away. However, there are 2 readings of 424 on the track and a slightly higher one in the dense forest to the left about 50 m off the track. Have fun!!Campbell Singer24/11/2015
