Parked near where Dales Way from Staveley meets the minor road from Crook and followed it to where it left the road, then over the gate and up to the top as others.IanHHill11/03/2024
Parking difficult when wet but parked near junction to NNW near Borwick hill which did on my return. Along road and then Dales Way. Up pasture to top.PeterD23/12/2023
Not much parking for a camper van in these parts, but eventually found a space to the west of Crag House. Got onto the Dales Way until N of summit, then simply a field gate to climb over and sheep field to ascend.summitter08/10/2023
Same parking and route as Isbjorn.Fine views all round on sunny afternoon.catman17/08/2023

Parked on the verge by a gate, just N of where the Dales Way meets the road. As others, through the second gate and to the summit.LizH02/10/2022
Room for a couple of cars to the north where the Dales Way reaches the road. Take the bridleway to the second field on the left where a gate gives access to a path leading directly to the summit. Rough pastureland so no access issues.moorsman21/09/2022
Parking for one vehicle in multi-gate grassy bay (SD452964). Up road, NW, to Dales Way FP, W along it to gate into 2nd field on L, then rough pasture to topIsbjorn26/08/2022
From Dales Way. Over gate then grassy slopes south summit and back same way. KeithByTheC13/06/2022
Up initial ROW path through narrow gap in the wall to the NE then gingerly over walls with barbies higher up. Slightly further west and easier on descent, but slightly confusing tracking rest again to pick up the lower three stiles. This is the HuMP summit that commands the whole area.vegibagger19/05/2022
Revisit from N for the (buried) trig block at summitRHW26/02/2022
Parked where the Dales Way leaves the road. Followed the DW to gate into second field, then straight up Crook Knott. Back to the car and along the road to the cattle grid, giving access to Borwick Hill. (S)silveracorn_alan17/02/2022

Parked at junction with gated road to the east of Borwick Fold. Then walked south east along the road to the Dales Way. Followed this to a gate on the left. Once over this the top can be reached without crossing any wall. Fine views.Clach Liath25/05/2020
3/4 Parked near Dales way footpath, just south of Borwick Hill, walked along to the cattle grid and accessed Borwick Hill from North West of the Cattle Grid for easy access, then through Borwick Fold to rejoin the DalesWay over to School Knott Tarn and up to Heathwaite Hill, backtracked all along Dales Way to Climb Crook Knott - use gate off the Dales Way enclosed trackway to gain access without having to cross any walls. Then over broken walls to reach footpath down to the Dales Way road which leads over to Staveley. Up this road, almost to the wide low barn, use gate on RHS to get easy access on Kerris Hill via three gates. Then back on Dales Way lanes to car. 3.5 hours enjoyable after a rainy morning.nickywood126/10/2019

As others from Dalesway, leaving road at GR 448965. A gate after the second wall gave unimpeded access (though NB it isn't access land). The wall, running E of this route and the HP is well maintained and topped with barbed wire. With brother, Pete on a grey day, some cloud as low as 1000 ft, bits of drizzle.pwheeler04/10/2017

My first hill climbed solely because it was a HuMP. On Dales Way track, over a gate, uphill into mist over rough tussock to the top at 15.00. No view - rain and mist.arranc21/03/2010
Turning off the Dales Way over the fence and South to the summit. A rough scattering of stones marks what appears to be an old cairn.briandiggle06/02/2010

Parked near road junction at Borwick Fold, then walked up road, Dales Way then into field and hence quickly to summit. Dry clear day with watery sunshine.Dugswell205/10/2009
Parked just off the road at SD 44869 96581. Walked west for approx 200 metres along Dales Way then climbed over metal gate onto private land. The two walls shown on the 25k map don't exist in real life. Easy tramp from gate to collapsed summit cairn.David Gradwell03/01/2009
