Morning 7 mile circuit in reverse with L. Sunny but chill NW wind still. Met local Nigel -former Head of Outdoor Pursuits -who seems to know everybody doing this popular loop for Kendal folk.Chris Pearson17/04/2024
What is this? Sunshine?! Still a fresh cold NW wind but very nice to feel the sun on the popular 7 mile circuit from Kendal onto Cunswick Fell and Scout Scar - runners. dog walkers aplenty as a Sunday - and even Hash House Harriers setting off blowing their hunting horn (!) - following their laid chalk marks. Went up N side of Serpentine Woods via Kettlewell Crag for a change.Chris Pearson14/04/2024
Morning 7 mile (11k) circular walk in 2.5 hrs from home with L. Finally a dry day with no rain forecast! April ahs started very wet with 170% of the usual April rainfall having fallen in 10 days in some areas. Ground elsewhere saturated mud BUT NOT HERE as all limestone which drains perfectly leaving a carpet of smooth short grass - ideal for trail shoes. Unlike the mudfest last night orienteering in heavy rain across Kendal on The Helm.Chris Pearson11/04/2024
Scout Scar car park in the old quarry, Scout Scar, Scout Scar Wainwright then over to the trig, and back to car park on a beautiful March morning, lovely to see the Lakeland tops covered in snow.matty1971b27/03/2024

Parked halfway down the hill towards Underbarrow and walked back up to the path. Visited both little cairn and shelter. Good views.IanHHill11/03/2024
With Nick. glorious day.HardenC07/02/2024
With Jim & Cat. Unfortunately Jus had got ill overnight, and we didn't want him to miss any Wainwrights, so spent our last morning in the Lakes doing an easy yet very pleasant loop out from Kendal to Kendal Fell, Cunswick Scar and both the Scout Scar summits. Scout Scar is a nice summit, although for once I have to agree with Wainwright that his viewpoint a short distance south is better.wheresthepath02/10/2023
Finally hit by the rain on my late afternoon 5 mile run from Kendal tempted out by sunshine between the showers. Dramatic shafts of sunshine on me from the westering low sun turned to heavy showers. I sheltered in the trees by the mast for a few minutes until it eased (false hope). Passed by one other runner -Phil Rutter who had won the LDMT 2 weeks ago -out in just a t-shirt and shorts. At least I had a cag and hat - ready for the drubbing to come.Chris Pearson18/09/2023
Parked up in Scout Scar car park and took the path on the other side of the road up to the observation shelter for the WO summit and then on to the trig point for the true summit. With Julia, Oscar, Boris and Buddy.ytfckent18/03/2023

3rd visit. Imperceptibly higher than the mushroom -but apparently so. Sunday morning walk from home in Kendal with L. Sunny nice morning but with 1pm rain forecast-which once back arrived on time!). Called in to the Basecamp marquee of the Kendal Mountain festival - talks and gear - bumped into John Bagge- great to reunite. Our upward route would have been busy yesterday as the 10km festival trial run comes this way then along to Cunswick Scar. Today dog walkers and families out in force.Chris Pearson20/11/2022

Magnificent viewpoint to the Lakeland Fells across the lush beautiful ( secret) Lyth Valley. Having just moved to live in Kendal this week this view alone made me happy to pay my council tax. A shortest of short stop offs returning from Crosthwaite to collect a wheeled commode ( freecycle) for dad from the Old Vicarage. Took longer that guessed to find as there are two old vicarages ( and a vicarage) in Crossthwaite!Chris Pearson23/08/2021
