Knock Pike and Flagdaw on morning run from cottage in Knock. Started on track at back of cottage, onto path that heads north from the village to the east of Knock Pike and then straight up through bracken and grass. On to Flagdaw and then back on road. 6.67 km.Herbert Anchovy13/08/2023

Parked at the gate, at the end of the driveable section of road ending NNW of the hill. Short distance along the track, then up over steep grass to the summit. Good views from a very short walk.LizH03/10/2022
Limited parking in Knock, beside barn opposite chapel (NY680270). Up lane NNE from Town End Farm, R at 1st junction, then waymarkers vanish, so can be a bit of a struggle to cross Knock Gill. Stone stile in wall at NY703268, then northern of two gates to start relentless slog up faint FP in bootlace-undoing bracken to top of Brownber Hill. Hurdle in wall at NY703280 facilitates a way to join PW at Swindale beck, then cross Sink Beck to join RoW SW to foot of Knock Pike, steep ascent, return to RoW which fights SSW through bracken and gorse. No waymarkers once enter arable land, RoW FP between walls seems to be completely overgrown, used fields on E side back to former R junction.Isbjorn21/08/2022
from Knock village via FP [overgrown] to east side of hill, up SE edge then down W side to the Knock Fell road.IanHHill05/07/2022

From Gravel Pit (on minor road to Great Dun fell just outside Knock) - Initially deterred by heavy rain we ascend Knock Pike - As conditions improve we follow footpath alongside Swindale beck flanking Flagdaw and joining the service road track up Great Dun - Cloud closes in around us at pole 287 - horizontal hail by pole 90 but nearly there - bag summit of Great Dun Fell and make a hasty retreat. Visibility at top less than 50 yrds.briandavies11/11/2018
Parked on wide verge by entrance to disused gravel pit at 6853 2879 - Through gate opposite & along RoW to sheep pens - Over a couple of gates into access land & then up over short grass to unmarked summit, making use of occasional animal trods & ATV tracks. (S)gerrybowes10/10/2018

With K in a round from Dufton including Dufton Pike. Footpath following track from Knock to Knock Pike is almost impassable due to growth/collapse of a large number of thorn bushes (blackthorn, rose etc.) Also loads of flies on this route. Recommend doing it from road end to NW of hill instead.Ashley22/04/2018

Parked in Knock, took direct ROW to access land then up SE ridge. Fine views, strong E breeze. Picked up sheep tracks and wider grassy tracks to descend to W old quarry on N side of hill. Continued with Brownber Hill(qv) and Dufton Pike(qqv) in a day's walking (5h20min) in the fascinating Whin Sill area between the high pennines and Eden Valley.pwheeler08/05/2017

7.5 walk from Knock village in perfect weather, walked up path to Knock Pike (Nice Little Hill), then back and along paths across fields to NW ridge up onto Dufton Pike (Great Little Hill), descended same way and thought Brownber Hill looked to tempting to ignore, so slogged up steep slopes to Brownber Hill Top, back along paths to Knock, then travelled to Baugh Fell.DanTrig16/05/2016
Walked on my own from Dufton. Fine and dry but lots of white cloud and rather too hazy for good views. Very windy on the summit.flockwatcher07/05/2016

Knock Pike, Flagdaw, Burney Hill. No highland cattle today on Knock Pike today. There's gated access to the fell from the quarry.ijpowell11/07/2014
There's a lane around the back of this hill, and unexpectedly a large quarry with face about 150' high. Easy grassy slopes to sudden arrival on summit marked by single small stone.Aye Jimmy10/08/2013
