Drive up to the high point on the minor road and park on the verge. Follow the signs through the gates and up to the corner of the the top field. then pick up one of the faint paths into the wooded area to the trig point above the old quarry. | smocks and denims | 14/09/2023 |

Lightweight backpacking hike from Carlisle to Penrith with Blaze Fell being the sole objective here. Fascinating summit area and certainly somewhere you could have a good thorough explore of on a nice day if time allows. | Alex C | 05/07/2023 |

From high point road to east in Baron Wood. Permissive track up sheep fields to walk. Short hope into the quarry area to trig, inc. stone table. 1/3 | N.Morters | 23/10/2022 |
As others, parked on the wide verge at NY5078 4372, along the signed path through a couple of gates, then over the wooden fencing just after the final gate, and along tracks through the grass to the summit trig point. Also visited the little 'ridge of spoil', which is now covered in vegetation. Still no current quarry working. Pleasant walk. | LizH | 27/09/2022 |

Parked on verge alongside Baron Wood on summit of road to E. Signed, gated permissive path up to open access land. The access gate into the OA area is in the southern corner and there is a metre of wooden fence with no bbw here, easily scaled, into the fenced off summit/quarry section. There is also a gate on the W side of this fenced off area. Lots of little trods on this area, no sign of quarrying on my visit but I guess it could return? Enjoyable hour, great views. | pwheeler | 05/09/2022 |
Verge parking at NY507437. PP WSW to wall corner NY4977743150 where wooden hurdle enables access into old quarry and the trig | Isbjorn | 30/08/2022 |
Verge parking alongside Baron Wood to the east. Good, clear, gated path all the way to the open access. The access gate into the OA area is in the soutern corner. But wait, once through the gate the area is fenced off. The official access into it is through a field gate on the northern edge of the area. However, stride the barbed wire seen just after the first gate and you are in! | moorsman | 04/08/2022 |

Walked in on concessionary path from the east. Summit area fenced off with barbed wire and quarry work going on with bulldozers. There was a gate in the wire, which made it possible to cross over to the trig point, when the machinery was quiet. | JohnW | 24/06/2021 |
delightful stop on drive N. Parked in gateway to E. marked path over sheep pasture into old quarry area, with disturbed ground but assume Trig at HP, visited earth and rock bank too. lovely sunny views for lunch. | Denise | 24/05/2021 |

100th Hump. Raining in the lakes so headed North. Glorious sunshine and good views. Started from the East along permissive path. Immediately cross the fence right after entering access land. Visited the Trig and man made spoil heap. | Jephcote83 | 17/12/2020 |
Quarry in active use. | Adrian | 02/11/2020 |
From the north following the waymarkers and down to the east. Both ways using the permissive paths which go through sheep fields. The quarry is interesting. | Alan Moore | 12/10/2020 |

Pleasant stroll up from the permissive Path to the East. Very nice hill with grand views. What a nice welcome compared to Wan Fell and Brown Rigg. Met the farmer he was very welcoming and chatty even in post covid times. | nickywood1 | 13/06/2020 |

Printed this off in 2015 but only did it today-from ENE on permissive path. Very atmospheric top in ruined sandstone quarry | Mark Sims | 24/04/2019 |
18:00 and my last fell of the day. Also the only Hump and it earns its status - a mini massif. Parked at works entrance to SE and followed track. Thought I'd get told off by farmer on atv but didn't. Followed cairns that, given the size of the boulders they were made from, I presumed had been made by giants; for I could not conceive how else they could have been built. Upon reaching the summit area I realized that it was a disused quarry and wondered if some mechanical device had, in fact, been used. Reclaimed by nature :o) Gazed across the appropriately named Vale of Eden, bathed in evening sunlight. A fitting end to three good day's walking. | Wycombe Wanderer | 21/04/2019 |
Approach from E along permissive route. Lots of red sandstone boulders & spoil heaps around summit area - at least one boulder stack looks higher than summit. Distant views unfortunately in mist. | ger | 07/04/2019 |
