From Middle Knoll. Up bridleway from Brennand Farm to access land. Then up steeply SW by fence to near summit. Where track veers away from fence, do not follow it into crags of Brennand Stones. Stay by fence on grass. Descended B'way in Rams Clough. | KeithByTheC | 19/07/2023 |

Parked at cattle grid to SW at Trough of Bowland and ascended by the fence - tough going. | JK | 10/09/2022 |
Parking area at road summit, Trough of Bowland. Followed fence to summit. Back same way. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 15/07/2022 |
Pleasant walk on the S side of the fence from the Trough of Bowland. Visited heathery rises 15m and 40m E of the summit to be on the safe side. | Nick Down1 | 25/04/2022 |
1/6 Parked in the lay by at the top of the pass. Followed the fence initially on the north side, then on the south side (good path) to the summit trig at the top of Whins Brow. Retraced the route to the pass and then followed the narrow track by the fence on the other side up to Top of Blaze Moss. A total round of 5.4km with 330m ascent in 1h 40m (S). | silveracorn_alan | 30/01/2022 |
From cattle grid along the fence. North side up, South side back. South side is better. | tim747 | 05/01/2022 |

From cattle grid at SD622530. An initial brutal but short start for tired legs at the end of the day. The rest of the 2 km walk E along the fence (fair path, better going on S side) seemed to take forever as I chased down the last few photons of summer, with a jog back to the car. | Isbjorn | 20/09/2021 |

From road summit ascended by following fence to Trig and HP | PeterD | 02/07/2021 |
Plan was a circuit from Trough of Bowland road summit to Whins Brow, Wolfhole Crag, White Hill, Middle Knoll, Baxton Fell and back over Whins Brow to start. Followed trod to N of fence from cattle grid, and near kissing gate to S of fence realised I should omit Whins Brow on the way out so cut N to path by border fence to Wolfhole Crag and on to White Hill (regretting short cut from Boston Crag to summit). Crossed to path to Whitendale and uncycleable bridle path towards Brennand Farm. Tired old legs elected to pass Midddle Knoll, and map reading revealed that POI for Baxton Fell SE of Whins Brow (at Clader Moor) was not at a summit, so I went direct to Whins Brow, up from farm but through a gate and following fence to NW of Brennand Stones direct to summit. S of fence down, crossing at aforementioned kissing gate to return to cattle grid. | henryfm | 28/06/2021 |

Parked in layby at Trough of Bowland. The best way up is to cross the cattle grid and go up the hill with the fence on your left hand side. This does require straddling a low sheep fence at top of initial steep rise, but there is much less heather from sheep grazing. Great views of the Yorkshire 3 peaks from the top. The bog cotton around the small tarn next to trig was looking its best - a photo must. | Pete West | 04/06/2021 |
En route to Wolfhole Crag. Didn't see a soul, amazing. | umontu | 30/04/2021 |

After Middle Knoll, headed down to water works at Foot Holme. Opposite the bore hole building a stony track led up the hillside. Very steep at the top of the slope then followed the fence line to the summit. Good path on S side of fence down to the Trough of Bowland. | Wheelsy | 09/08/2020 |
Followed the fence from the cattle grid at the top of the road. | PGCE | 02/06/2020 |

From layby at top of Trough Road: Middle Knoll, Whitendale, Wolfhole Crag, Brennand Tarn, Whin's Brow. First time out after lockdown and able to do local walk of more than 1 hour. Ground very dry for this area, mixed cold winds and sun. | Lazylizzie | 16/05/2020 |

Walked up from Dunsop Bridge with Adrian to Brennand Farm. Up Ouster Rake then along the boggy fence line to the trig, fine albeit very windy weather accompanying us. Views all around were excellent - dropped down via the footpath to Trough Barn and followed the road back for a cuppa at Puddleducks. 9 miles, easy navigation, very wet underfoot on Whins Brow. | JOHNS | 29/02/2020 |

Much appreciated drop off from Mark T at the top of the Trough of Bowland enabled me to get a fine linear route from here over to Slaidburn hostel for the night. | Alex C | 22/11/2019 |
From cattle grid (SD 6225 5305). Followed fenceline, south side a little easier. | jonglew | 29/08/2019 |

Walked from Dunsop Bridge via Trough of Bowland road to Trough Barn, then Bridle Track to fence junction on shoulder of Whins Brow and up to Summit. Returned via Brennands Farm and Dunsop valley. A really nice walk to set me up for the evening's footie! | IanHHill | 03/04/2019 |
From the Trough of Bowland, parking area just NW of cattle grid. Followed the fence, rather a dull trudge to start, but fine, open moorland views along ridge the last third. Thin trod all the way, just a few wet or peaty patches. Sunny all day, hazy but more so below about 300m. | pwheeler | 27/02/2019 |

While exploring Dunsop, Brennand and Sykes Nab w. Iz and Jenna. Jenna’s biggest walk so far at 14km. Well done Jenna! | MrHallorann | 10/02/2019 |
Parking area 50m NW of cattle grid at 622531 - Path/trod up N. side of fence for about 500m to kissing gate - Through gate & then path/ATV track on S. side of fence. A kissing gate about 40m short of trig point provides easy access to summit. (S) | gerrybowes | 05/02/2019 |
