Started at Cutthroat Bridge. Extrememly bad weather - gale force winds and driving rain. Walked via Hordron Edge to Jarvis Clough, crossed Moscar Moor up onto the edge using compass bearing, descending Stanage Edge from the Long Causeway to Dennis Knoll and then up the road to turn up onto Bamford Edge before taking a bearing across Bamford Moor to Jarvis Clough and return as ascent. Top with greatest reascent on 'Eastern Edges' walk from Flouch Inn to Baslow; the only Hump. After our lunch stop on Back Tor, the walk was excellent, on a gritstone escarpment with fascinating wind-carved tors such as 'the Salt Cellar. We went at least as far as Hurkling Stones before joining a path E to Moscar, a bit of A57, then glorious Stanage Edge. This is its highest point. With SJB and JEL.
