Long evening out after work. Set out to go to Bleaklow but Snake Pass was shut, so a new plan was made on the way! Easy parking in the large car park to the south at 1053ft. Follow the path to the first set of trees then, as you leave them, a stile gives access to the moor. There is a good track to the summit although it is a bit of a scramble up the final rocks.moorsman18/02/2015

My very first walk along the whole of Stanage edge with Nottingham HF rambling club, medium walk. We started near Fairholmes visitor centre on Ladybower reservoir and walked to Hathersage via Stanage edge. The light conditions were tremendous. Top with greatest reascent on 'Eastern Edges' walk from Flouch Inn to Baslow; the only Hump. After our lunch stop on Back Tor, the walk was excellent, on a gritstone escarpment with fascinating wind-carved tors such as 'the Salt Cellar. We went at least as far as Hurkling Stones before joining a path E to Moscar, a bit of A57, then glorious Stanage Edge. This is its highest point. With SJB and JEL.
