As gerrybowes. I thought the muddy bits on the rides were caused by horses; vehicle tracks only above jct. at 380m., where most of the trees had been felled. Easy over gate to HP. Last hill of day, just as rain was starting. | pwheeler | 04/05/2023 |

A walk with sloes | andrewcoles | 29/09/2022 |
From the forest road barrier up the more than usually muddy track due to forest extraction work. Over the old iron gate to the top. | NormanW | 25/05/2022 |
As gerrybowes. | PGCE | 10/11/2020 |
Parked just inside the start of the forest track. Crossed very muddy forest vehicle tracks, and went straight up between widely spaced trees, then out into the summit field. | LizH | 16/08/2020 |
As moorsman, parked about 40m inside forest entrance to N. at SO 2952 8661 - From just before the barrier, ESE up muddy track for about 300m to junction, turned right & WSW up track to edge of forest - Over metal gate/fencing in BW fence at SO 2960 8634 & then a short stroll up to unmarked summit. (S) | gerrybowes | 11/03/2020 |
Tried to follow moorsman directions but took main forest track when you should actually take rising path to right immediately behind the sign. Went far too far on forest road but managed to double back through forest as it started to get a bit dark. Easier on correct route back. | Mark Sims | 08/02/2020 |
With Minnie, as others-up forest tracks from parking to North, steep & boggy in places but easy to follow, nice to get to a top in sunshine, some nice views. | apricorum | 03/12/2019 |
From north up forest track as others across pasture to HP. | PeterD | 06/04/2019 |
Via lane to SW and W ridge. Sun coming out at last so really enjoyed the airy stroll and spacious views. | Wycombe Wanderer | 06/09/2018 |
From the N like everyone else. Just went to the 10 dig grid ref. | Jim.Fothergill | 21/08/2018 |
Used zigzag route through the forest then over gate and across the sheep pasture. All went well until I stabbed my leg on a spikey tree on the way back. Nasty messy wound. | jenx | 15/10/2017 |
With Jenx and Bryher from the forest parking. Interestingly named hill, Bryn being 'hill' in Welsh, so in effect Hill Hill. Like Pen Hill in English. Followed rides as described previously, boggy in places due to footfall and drainage not managed. Top of hill cropped pasture, views not so good as some hills aroundabouts | nordicstar | 15/10/2017 |
Very good directions from moorsman - thanks | carole engel | 29/07/2017 |
With K. Easily done as others have suggested by following abandoned forest tracks from near Goat House. There is a gate from wood into summit field. | Ashley | 17/04/2017 |
As moorsman | Alan Moore | 06/04/2017 |
From Cefn Einion steeply up through forest and then along forest field boundary. Grassy fields with water tank at fence junction. High point 70m ENE of tank. | RichardM | 25/03/2017 |
Steep forest track from good parking, across pasture to water tank | cjo | 25/03/2017 |
domed sheep field near water tank and fence junction. delightfully sunny. | Denise | 25/03/2017 |
7/14 Seventh of Fourteen Shropshire and area peak bagging day (Burrow/Sunny Hill/Garn Rock Hill/Dowke Hill/Black Mountain/Hergon/Bryn Hill/Colebatch Hill/Reith Top/Oakley Mind/Norbury Hill/Corndon Hill/Lan Fawr/Stapeley Hill) | Fergalh | 17/09/2016 |
Drive onto the forestry entrance track to the north where there is a large, wide parking area. From here an easy track leads upwards. After 10 minutes take the track coming in from the right. This leads to the forest edge. Look 50m to your left to find a field access gate. Cross the field to reach the summit. | moorsman | 20/04/2016 |
Not the easiest climb, steep, wet and muddy. Through the gate at the top of the forest, short walk across the field to highest point. With stig_nest. | Laura.W | 20/02/2016 |
From near the boot sale.
Up a couple of muddy firebreaks and into open pasture. Corner of field has a covered resv.
Easy enough.
My last Shropshire Hump..now what?

From minor road to N; on forest tracks, not RoW marked on OS 1:25k. Broke out of forest at SO 29598 86345. HP possibly at base of covered reservoir (where OS spot height is located), or 50m E. | jonglew | 23/01/2015 |
With Cabe. Colebatch Hill, Bryn Hill, Sunnyhill and Oakeley Mynd. Bryn Hill up through trees is not recommended. | simon and co | 27/12/2014 |
Route as Father Ted. I also spotted the shoe tree on the road up. | Chris Peart | 13/08/2014 |
Overgrown forest tracks then easy walking over field. | rhalstead | 20/07/2014 |
Locked my bike up on the minor road to the north and ascended through the trees. Very long grass in the top field but otherwise no problem. | Alex C | 20/06/2014 |
Clun circular: Snow plod from N as others then off SW along edge of wood to track junction, Pant Edward & then curious ROW through a back garden at Llysty. | Smudge | 31/03/2013 |
Also parked at SO295866 and up forest tracks - not the main ramblers track. There was just one right turn and then over the fence and I was at the top. What's all those boots doing up a tree on the road up to the car park? | Father Ted | 19/02/2012 |
Did sub HuMP Colebatch Hill first. Then went straight up forest into field before using slippy track on way back in the rain. Ladder sticking out of concrete tank at top. | Dugswell2 | 25/11/2011 |
Park on broad forest road at its junction. On forest road, diverting to an overgrown path with much forest debris. On a second narrower track up to see daylight ahead at the end of the trees. Over a BWF and across rough oats to the top of a domed field. 14.50. | arranc | 23/08/2011 |
P to N of hill. Up track - overgrown then along field edge. | chrisbien | 19/07/2011 |
Lesley (and Rebecca) were doing the Bishops Castle Tandam Triathalon leaving me time to bag a few obscure hills. Boldly walked up track from SW to building which was thankfully unoccupied (holiday cottage?) and from where easy track upfields to top. Jog back same way. | Chris Pearson | 02/07/2011 |
WALKED FROM THE NORTH UP FOREST TRACKS IN A ZIG ZAG, NOT SHOWN ON 1:50000 MAPS. | DARRENG | 03/01/2011 |
From the N. As Derek Norry - last 200m steep - not advisable if wet. | destaylor | 07/10/2010 |
Parked at SO295866 and followed forestry tracks to the top, came stright down the side on the way back.

Via little used tracks/paths in the woods from SO295866. | summitsup | 14/09/2008 |
Parked at Trelerney and walked up track before heading across pasture to top. The highest point is surmounted by a concrete tank of some sort. | clivevilla | 24/05/2008 |
