Parked on the side of the road at SO466517. Followed the footpath towards the woods then turned off to the right. Went up following a row of trees, past concrete/brick structures (SO 45941 51944) to the top. Trig was slightly hidden in bracken/ brambles but not too bad this time of year. Lambs, rabbits and lots of deer seen on the way.Droplet749415/03/2024
From SE parked at start of FP. Followed until it disappears into woods then followed tractor tracks across field and up to access land. Paths through dead bracken to trig. May not be as easy in summer. HP possibly 15m north. Herd of a dozen deer kept an eye on me. Easier than was expecting.PeterD24/02/2024
Straightforward using public footpath to SE then following edge of wood. A few brambles near the summit but nothing outrageous. Peaceful.Wycombe Wanderer27/08/2023
Part of West hope to Queenswood Arboretum circular walk. Wonderful views from hill top.Breinholt28/10/2022
Parked at the start of the path to the east on the common land. Bit of a bash at this time of year.Alan Caine14/06/2022
Last hill of a 5 HuMP two day lightweight bivvying walk from Ludlow to Leominster.Alex C15/05/2021
Like others, but parked at 467516 (OK, but not really any proper parking space up here). Round field bdys but vehicle track overgrown since May 2020. A truly purgatorial last 80 yds. Made the walk better by looping round houses over top of open part of common, superb Malvern and Black Mts. viewspwheeler06/09/2020
Similar to Jim.Fothergill. Easy verge parking by start of RoW at SO 4656 5177 - Through gate & W. along RoW to wheat field at 4603 5180 - N. & then WSW around field boundary to NW corner at 4589 5180 - Turned right & along grass track to open gateway - Immediately after gateway, turned left into rough area & along overgrown vehicle track for about 80m to trig point. With Jenx and Bryher from East, misread reports. Met owner, said ok to circuit properties, best to north using two stiles into woods, then field margins. Trig not buried, cut brambles back anyway.nordicstar31/12/2018
Not the easiest route from the east!jenx31/12/2018
A circuit from SO466517. Approach to HP/TP from SW proved trying. Returned to complete a circuit via the HP of Westhope Hill.summitsup20/10/2018
With K. Parked on common land near Broomwell (farmer appeared disinterested). Took a few approaches to access. Physically no access from three cottages due E (track on 1:25k does not exist on ground). Eventually approached walking around field margins. Didn't dive into thick undergrowth for trig but confident we got high point as shown on this site.Ashley10/07/2018
From Common land to SE, tracks and field boundary to access land.rhalstead10/02/2018
Parked at 465517 and followed ROW to wood edge, along wood edge then N along edge of field of wheat to 460521. WSW to field edge then WNW right of hedge until adjacent to trig where there was a gap though and a bit of a track through the nettles & brambles.Jim.Fothergill30/07/2017
From the E like most others. Muddy footpath and very sticky field edges. Trig area best bit and more open than expected, at least at this time of year.milimana14/01/2017
From ESE. Visited the common first and then crossed various fields to the top. Trig was indeed well hidden.Herbert Anchovy17/06/2015
5/8 Hopped through field into forest not much brambles in January but not advisable in summer. Trig Pillar is away from field in brambles and ferns best done in winterFergalh06/01/2015
Parked at 466517. Initial walk on the Common then fields. Not recommendedjimbloomer28/11/2014
Followed the footpath from it's east end (Westhope Common) and at the corner of the wood took to field edges.Chris Peart20/10/2014
Parked at 458510 and made way up edge line on to RoW then cut across stubble field. Not the easiest trig to find !heavyhorses05/10/2014
Parked above Westhope at 466517 (but just as easy at (465517): Kept to field edges, but some useful tractor lines through crops: Trig easy to spot from field to EGordonAdshead03/05/2014
Difficult approach from the SW. We parked on a minor road just off the A4110. Walked up tarmaced path to what should have given access to the hill (according to our OS 1:25k map), but ended in a couple of large house. No one in so did the trespass over some awkward b/w fences and up a steep embankment to crest out at top of a lovely hill of blue bells etc which were surrounding the trig.jonglew26/05/2013
The summit (trig point) is in the middle of the under growth (brambles and bracken) between several fields. Trust your eye for where the highest point is & you'll find it quite easily.JohnStoneham01/07/2012
Friendly farmer at Bush Bank, big bale straw now lying in field after harvest. Trig can take some finding at this time of year.Dugswell216/09/2011
P at road end SE of hill. Followed ROW then along field edges. Cut my way through to the trig. Someone had done the same.chrisbien18/07/2011
From ESE stroll to the top. Could be difficult when crops growing.destaylor06/01/2011
Ascended as England were apparently losing to Germany in some football tournaemnt or other. Meant that not spotted trespassing on wheat fields. The top is well hidden in a mass of bracken, brambles and nettles - horribleMartin R27/06/2010
Footpath through Westhope wood from farm at Bush Bank. Take your GPS to avoid long searchhodder30/11/2009
from Westhome Wood - cropsarranc05/09/2009
I approached from the east which was an easy approach skirting a couple of houses to avoid the chance of "get off my land". However the trig point is concealed in bracken and brambles and I was lucky to find it. I would recommend either a winter visit orclivevilla12/08/2008
Tricky access - came from SW to visit trig pointdesperate dan13/04/2004
TP in bracken at scarp edge, dullish summit, lovely view W; cleared of forest by POWs according to a local. via FP from E then field edges RHW26/12/2002
