Parked at the Town and Country car park at SO597231 where a board proclaims the name of the hill as Chase Hill. Followed rights of way to the 196 spot height, then a brief fight with bracken led into the summit field. Descended directly W from summit through steep but passable woodland. | Mark Jackson | 08/07/2023 |

A revisit while on Stage 4 of the Wye Valley Walk, Kerne Bridge - Ross. The route up the WVW from the south is steep once you're in the wood; the proper footpath at the foot of the wood seems to now end in a barbed wire fence (there is a permissive path which runs parallel, along the edge of the trees). It's a good hillfort, although the earthworks aren't the most impressive. | thesweetcheat | 13/08/2022 |

Same as paulxtr. Parked on Fernbank Rd. near start of right of way to the fort. Lots of unmapped paths in the woods. Very short trespass into farmer's field to bag the trigpoint. | thejackrustles | 05/08/2021 |

Solo walk from Ross to have a look at the hillfort. Approached along the Wye Valley Walk, the skirted the rampart clockwise. The ground drops most steeply on the west. North of an area of cliffs (quarried) a narrow track heads uphill towards the summit. There would be extensive views from the trig but for the trees, although almost inevitably May Hill is visible - I'm convinced it can be seen from everywhere. | thesweetcheat | 03/06/2017 |
Parked on housing estate to North, FP to hill farm and then Wye Valley walk to gate into field and up to Trig. Did ape yard Park on same walk. | PeterD | 14/04/2017 |

A circular walk starting in the centre of Ross on Wye and working up through fields into Chase Wood. We took a little detour to the trig point. Found that the path further down was blocked by a fallen tree and then that the road to Cubberley is private, so we had to take the long way around. The river Wye had burst its banks and flooded the last part of the footpath, so we found ourselves trapped in a field. Fortuately, we found a makeshift bridge (plank!) over a little brook and escaped onto a different footpath and made it back safely, although we did the last half hour of the walk in semi darkness!
