From Oxenton Church. Up track/path to summit. Lovely sunny afternoon and fine views.N.Morters24/09/2022
Levelish grassy hill fort with good views. Trig. HP on grassy lump .Denise 02/05/2022
My final divert from the Gloucestershire Way up the track to the summit and trig point. Bullocks on summit.PhilipChaston20/04/2022
Considerable climb to the summit of a very fine hill. From Oxenton.Wycombe Wanderer17/07/2021
Also Followed chrisbien's route. There are a plethora of tracks in Dixton Wood just follow your nose. There are also ladder frames with chairs at the top throughout the woods I imagine the wood can get busy sometimes!DC11main14/04/2021
Following Winchcombe Way N from Manor Farm. From stile at S end of Dixton Wood, take unmarked track heading into the wood. Follow this through woods to far end and turn up two more tracks to the fields above and to highpoint. This approach gives good cover from observation by GOML brigade. Part of circuit including Langley Hill and Oxenton Hill, then first thirst quencing post lock-down pint at Gardeners, Alderton.Pete West13/04/2021
As chrisbien. Verge parking on bend to ENE at SO 9823 3183 - Along track towards enclosed barn & turned left into field - Along edge of field for about 40m & then right through gate which takes you to the rear of the barn - Followed vehicle tracks to summit mound & trig point. Tracks over grass are sometimes a bit faint; middle section is stone track. (S)gerrybowes31/03/2021
Parked by Oxenton Village Hall at SO955313 and walked up good track all the way to summit.Tony J31/03/2021
Parked near Oxenton church, then up the PRoW to a gate saying KEEP OUT We followed a path to the right and around the fields and gates without any further warnings. Got to the Knolls and onto the summit grassy area. What fantastic views all around.ChinnockC05/09/2020
Outrageously muddy on the lower slopes. Brilliant full moon though this evening.Alex C08/03/2020
With K easily from sharp bend to ENE as chrisbien below. Recommend this route.Ashley07/09/2019
Cheltenham Racecourse - Cleeve Hill - Nottingham Hill - Langley Hill - Dixton Hill - Oxenton Hill - Bishop's Cleeve.Mark Jackson29/06/2019
From Dixton at f/p sign 'Woolstone 1m'. W for a short way then NW past ponds and fields to top, bwf to step over. Trig on top but hp about 20m away on bumpy ground. On way back found sheep with head stuck in metal gate with diagonal struts, its head was firmly wedged in triangle at corner. Unable to free it after 20 minutes of trying. Spent the next hour seeking out farmer, told him he'd need an angle grinder. All this faffing mucked up my plans a bit, but there you go...Aye Jimmy02/03/2019
Bishop's Cleeve to Woodmancote. W-NE (Gloucestershire to Wynchcombe Ways) traverse.Smudge17/02/2019
A nice walk. Just horses grazing in the fields.jenx02/01/2019
From Oxenton village, parked at church. Uneventful late afternoon stroll. Great views all round. With Jenx and Bryhernordicstar02/01/2019
No one about at 7pm on a Sunday.PGCE28/05/2017
Last of three on a trespassy day. This was the most relaxed- simply because there was no one else about and I was able to relax on the top in evening sunshine. Simply up from Oxenton village hall and back same way.pwheeler13/03/2017
A lovely winter's dawn with purple bands across the sky as night became day. A pre-breakfast solo escape from an overly warm cabin at the BES Himalayan gathering at Bredon's Water Park. Had been foiled from leaving by car the morning before by a locked barrier overnight -did not have the code. A good walk up and down the track from Oxenton in wellies - no mud on me - passing 'monolith still' horses to quote Ted Hughes.Chris Pearson19/02/2017
I was walking up the track from Oxenton to the summit when I came across a shooting party being driven by a guy in a tractor. He wasn't hostile but he wasn't friendly and made it very clear that there is no ROW up the hill and I was not going to climb it. I decided to retreat.Sprog13/08/2016

From village with A&B. Lots of pheasants, but no one else. Good hill with views to Malverns Wales and Cotswolds.PeterD12/09/2015
Early morning start from Oxenton village. Around 2 miles return.Alan Caine26/08/2015
As per chrisbien - not a ROW but no one seen . Good climb and great views from trigMark Sims17/08/2015
4/7 Quite a long walk up from village but worth it for fine views.Fergalh12/12/2014
great all round views.Adrian16/02/2014
Parked in church car park and walked E, initially on a PROW which veers off S well before the summit. There is a good path from here to the top. A sign informs the land is 'Private / No public right of way / Please keep to footpath'. I took the last part to indicate it was ok to go up to the summit as long as I stayed on the path.jonglew23/10/2013
And again on:- 02-05-2022 Ascent from the SE up pasture shoulder with unusually aggressive cattle. Summit hill fort with great if hazy views. Descent through Dixton Wood but with the nettles and brambles I'd probably recommend the cattle option.RichardM23/05/2012
As CB for the start. Track tricky to find as they are digging a very large pond/reservoir. Lots of mud. Track probably to left of pond. No private signs and all gates open or unlocked.destaylor04/05/2012
Did as ChrisBien. Got a thorough soaking.Herbert Anchovy20/04/2012
From Oxenton village route starts OK but then goes onto clearly marked private land but no entry signs were painted 20+years ago and change of owner appears less concerned. I found 5 horse head collars on a gate post suggesting theft is not a problem hereDugswell205/03/2012
Nae coos or bulls! Parked at sharp corner ENE of hill. There is atrack which takes you all the way to the top but isn't obvious at the start. Go into fild S of farm buildings and it takes you to gate into the next field. Obvious after that 13:19chrisbien05/12/2011
Started at point 71 on the road to the east and followed a clear track all the way to the summit. Another pheasant wood to sneak through.Martin R20/08/2011
Approached from east under cover of fog and found a path through the woods seeing deer and then buzzard on top.Father Ted12/12/2010
Enjoyable hill following the Gloucerstershire wayhodder24/09/2009
From Oxenton village the route starts fine but then goes onto clearly marked private land with frisky looking cattle. I circumnavigated them and the view from the hill fort at the top is worth the effort.clivevilla16/02/2008
A hidden gem - up track from west with landowners permission. Through a field with two large bulls.desperate dan02/06/2007
