After Cadbury Castle, took track past Fursdon Lodge to minor road. From double gates headed along track going NE into Hallshot Wood. Continued along track in woods until north of top then easily across to copse and HP. Back same way, even though good tractor tracks back to double gate. | PeterD | 03/03/2023 |
Parking as for Cadbury Castle. Cross-country route from their, via tractor lines in crops to summit copse. | Minto | 30/06/2022 |
Solo. From Cadbury Hill. Descended halfway as far as gate marked Private at the edge of the trees. Path from here leads to the minor road to the East. No houses within the line of sight of the path so it was a guilt free walk! Follow the road 200m to the field entrance with clear tram lines. A more furtive/hidden option is to take the path to the left to Hallshot Wood. This continues as an excellent track to within 100m of the top. Emerge when you are level with the ring of trees on your right and pick your way as best you can to the top. | MickyRoss | 23/12/2021 |
Small layby (3 cars) S. of Cadbury Castle at SS 9145 0465. After ascent of hill fort, back down to start of RoW & NW along good track to road & double gates at SS 9187 0493 - Over gate & E. along tractor tracks across 2 fields - From gap into 3rd field headed E. & then N. along tram lines; this takes you to within 20m of SW corner of copse - Easily over BW fence by memorial stone & through copse to high point on E. side. This year's barley crop has been harvested & recently sown crop (not cereal) is now a couple of inches high. (S) | gerrybowes | 06/09/2021 |

Parked in open gateway to the west and walked up track which became only tractor lines through the crop but managed to get to the copse without trampling anything. Still, glad I didn't meet the farmer. | clivevilla | 11/11/2017 |
Last hill on 2nd day of trip from Scotland. Previous 10 that day were Telegraph Hill, Eggardon Hill, Lambert's Castle, St. Rayn's Hill, Bulverton Hill, Woodbury Common, Colleywell Hill, Weddle Down, Stoke Hill and White Down Hill. | Kiltie | 09/10/2017 |
Parked to West on road edge w Jenx and Bryher, used track to Hallshot Woods, field all planted up with root veg, all three to summit. Used field boundaries to easily walk to close to top then tractor lines to wooded top. Didn't hang around as local farmer about in a 4x4, saw him later when back at car and gave a cheery wave :-) | nordicstar | 05/10/2017 |
Easy way up but beat a hasty retreat when we caught sight of farmer parked up behind the copse. | jenx | 05/10/2017 |

From Cadbury castle took permissive fp to corner of adjacent wood and cut across . se to join track to minor road. Followed noticeable track heading up Fursdon hill veering off to inspect the ring of beech trees crowning the summit. I Climbed into this enclosure! | Dazingdale | 04/01/2014 |
Short walk (trespass) up from minor road to W of hill, along wide leafy path. Final section over arable field to enchanting circle of old beech trees at hill summit. Would have been easy for farmer to grub up these trees to increase yield from field, but new saplings have been planted to ensure their continuation. | jonglew | 01/12/2013 |
Across plough. Ring of beech trees at top. | arranc | 02/01/2013 |
