| With Jenx and Bryher. Followed JB's instructions to 'edge of mature wood', HOWEVER NOTE new ride (of sorts) leads from 35m further down the path, behind a holly bush at GR SX92008 81058. This follows straight line easy walking about 100m direct to summit, no tree thrashing required. | Pleasant autumnal woods for Sunday stroll, with good viewpoint over Exe and strange stupa nearby. the summit is most unsatisfactory in thick undergrowth and/ or pine, depending on where you think the quite indistinct summit is. We struggled through pines to reach the 1:25 spot height point but hard to say if this was or was not the HP or where it was. Feel we have done enough struggling to tick it ! | Denise | 23/10/2016 |
| On the positives, there's a large well designed free carpark amongst pines and a pleasent woodland stroll reaches view point with great view of the Exe valley. We also visited the 1:25,000 OS spot height in pine forest but ground to its S felt higher - though all very marginal. Hill top is pale flints in powdery grey soil. | RichardM | 23/10/2016 |

| Attacked this hill on the merest trace of a path through scrubby wood directly from the car park before it disappeared and was forced back. Second attack was more fruitful; from a path running NE-SW a clear track leads off at right angles (SX 91990 81032) in a SE direction, along side of a dense conifer plantation. It may be that I covered the HP, or it may be that it's in the conifers. Either way not really possible to determine the precise HP with so much dense vegetation. | jonglew | 16/11/2014 |

| At end of ChrisB stand walk 80 down developing track in thinner band of tree plantings. I then branch and bramble cleared a path N over 7 2-4m tree furrows in the thick plantings to the place where the 1:25k spot height sits over the google earth aerial shot.
