On the way back from Stamford, out the car and a quick wander about. Strange to be on a high point and be looking up a hill!petebagger28/01/2019
Final Northants hill. Stepped out of the car in the dark. Not a lot to see.jonglew19/11/2018

In the dark. Bit of a diversion from my route to the Peterborough Travelodge.Herbert Anchovy05/02/2018
quick stop off while passing, roadside parking within yards.rhalstead20/01/2018
Approached from Easton on the Hill. Two farmers were tipping manure adjacent to the summit at dusk. Embarrassed by my quest, I got out of car at hp and asked if it was possible to get onto the A1 from this point or did I have to return to Easton. Knowing the answer, at least the question gave me an excuse to get out of the car but the stink was extremely agricultural and permeated the car. Still, another county top ticked in inglorious circumstances.Campbell Singer22/11/2017
Broke a tedious drive up the A1 to collect this. Parked in the layby a few yards away. Not what you would call a challenging feat of mountaineering.lenman17/11/2017
What can I say, another top Bagged.dgresty22/10/2017
Parked near bend, reading taken S verge near horse chestnut. Then up track to alternative high point, readings taken about 150m before two towers were 2m higher than roadside one.Aye Jimmy04/08/2017
Very quick detour from A1, parked right on bend.alwaysinshorts29/06/2017

Parked on verge at bend in road. Highest point appears to be a mound on the side of the road, opposite the track heading north. Walked up the track for about 600m to the potential alternative summit.Dugswell230/08/2016

Not much you can say about this one. Pretty damn dull.ngthack10/02/2016
County top outing, it took two visits to find the spot as the first time I could not remember which of the farm track turnings I was supposed to be at, now I know its the first one on the right if you come in from the A1 also on the opposite side of the road on the far side of a field there should be the start of a long wooded area.WAYNE ROWLETT02/09/2015
With two lincs hillsmaltose15/08/2015
This should be a quiet and peaceful location but the A1 is too close. Being a long, flat straight locals were testing out their motor bikes - which did not help either.M3WDD03/07/2015
1/2 Quick drive to bend in road....an jumped out of car a one metre walk !Fergalh03/07/2015

Top no.22 - train to Stamford then circular walk via Wothorpe, Racecourse Road, Easton on the Hill and Stamford. Distance 6.6 miles, climb 385ft. Very muddy on farm paths. Cloudy, unseasonably cold with heavy snow shower at first.(Temp 3 deg C)alan.65to7020/03/2013
No hill, no view, nothing really apart from a small tree on a piece of grass by a farm gate. Not even any Harrier Jumpjets from nearby RAF Wittering. Ah well, another tick in the list.Mark T13/03/2013
The last and worst of a 4 top bagging session done in three hours in and around Rutland. Nothing at all resembling a hill, or even an incline for that matter. Got out of car, walked around a bit at the spot suggested by the Hill Bagging map. Got back in car and drove home.RichieRambler18/12/2012
difficult to identify exact locationBramley08/12/2012

Drive to it. Access from A1 north or come off A1 before and take a long strait road to it. Drive on 10 yards, then walk back if you can detect a slope to be sure wher it is. PJHBHMC30/06/2012
Just a small low bump by side of road as far as we could see. Alex, Marie and myself on way to watch Henry IV part one at outdoor theatre at Tolethorpe Hall, Rutland. Food (Lincolnshire sausage bap)at the Cafe Black in Stamford, recommended!mcf30/06/2012
Parked car at bend in road and got out to take photosMaryfooksmills29/01/2012

nice tree lined lanejohnfwoolley04/05/2009
Still no access from the A1. Nice little tree by the high spot. The Team29/03/2009
Bagged enroute to Holme Fen, the lowest point of Britain. The A1 end of the road was closed, but we came from the other end. Ignored the 'Road Ahead Closed' signs hoping we'd find the highpoint before the closed part. Luckily we did.kaapiovuohi04/10/2008
Still no access from A1. After visiting here I headed off to the only place in Britain where four counties meet i.e. Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Rutland and Cambridgeshire at TF 01936 05797, just off the A1.Father Ted09/03/2008
7th Top of Stansted trip. Note no longer any access from A1, and W end of road has Road Closed signs. Can access tho to park on bend at high point. Very flat and lots of traffic noise from A1.martin & storm14/02/2008
just by side of road, not bad views at all, seems along way from peterboroughasbown08/08/2007
Very picturesque but noisy planes.Lovely horse chestnut tree by the high point.chris creedy11/07/2007
Horse chestnut and gate seemed highest point. Nice Harrier outside RAF Wittering.electricratman06/04/2007
Great top - just a bend in the road by a horse chestnut and private sign! Not worth trespassing in field to north as it's all flat as a pancake.signyred04/08/2006
Parked just off A1, walked along road past County border, then back again.DavidGMould12/07/2006
Very easy to get, just pull off the A1 and park after the trees end. Highest point is either in centre of road (watch out for traffic!) or on the grass verge either side! Nearby house looks like a WW2 Radar Station for RAF Wittering airfield.Nick24/06/2006
Easy parking on verge of Racecourse Road. GPS showed summit of track to north slightly higher than Racecourse Road itself. Nicer top than expected. Saw a weasel!wheresthepath23/07/2005
