Parked in KFC car park, next to reservoir gates. Visited gates and walked partway around compound. | PGCE | 13/01/2024 |

2 local hills bagged to tick off list. parked near summit and walked around reservoir. | dazedemon | 15/03/2021 |
Pootle up on the bike, cycled around the reservoir and no obvious access point without scaling the fence. | Nicky C | 17/04/2020 |
Access to the site can be gained from Woodthorpe Rd, but agree reservoir gates on B684 most likely as naturally high as anywhere within the compound. | jonglew | 11/02/2020 |
Parked near summit in Woodthorpe Road. | David Evans | 11/01/2020 |
As Nordicstar. House still empty but gate is opposite a car repair place so a bit brazen. | clivevilla | 10/04/2018 |
Top of reservoir unobtainable, and it felt like the highest ground otherwise was near the start of Woodthorpe Road or even across the other side of the B684 opposite it. | Wheelsy | 07/03/2017 |
I walked along the road looking at the very top through the fence. | Alancache | 21/10/2016 |
Passing through Nottingham took me close to this. Walked around, took photos of the gates, that's about it... | Aye Jimmy | 20/05/2015 |
Having bagged 'new' summit thought I'd visit the old one on the way home. | RHW | 21/12/2014 |
Another drive by where border runs along streets. | arranc | 19/04/2014 |
Wet day, so had a bus ride around Nottingham. Good chance to bag a couple of locals. Have passed this location many times over the years. | Richard Gunn | 08/11/2013 |
Definitely well guarded and fence mainly overgrown with laurel. | destaylor | 20/09/2013 |
Travel this way on a regular basis | hillexplorer | 15/02/2013 |
I was going to bag this one today on the way to the new bouldering centre in Nottingham but after a close inspection of the map, I am going to claim the hill on the basis that I have driven and walked as close as you can get to the top many times before when I lived in Nottingham in the late 90's early 2000s. A good friend lived close by in Carlton. | RichieRambler | 20/12/2012 |
Eakring - Ride (via Strava) | visionset | 08/11/2012 |
Probably been here a few times before about 40 years ago as a school friend lived close by. However this is the first visit since started Unitary top bagging - tops like this make me wonder why I bother. | Hillsidenick | 28/10/2012 |
Walked all round | Bramley | 05/10/2012 |
Intersting spot. Side road by house, Woodthorpe road, has lowish gate that can be climbed, house now empty. Allowed bag of top of reservoir! Hardly a triumph... | nordicstar | 01/08/2012 |
I actually quite enjoyed this - I'm going to agree with R. Mackey and claim the Bread and Bitter as the top! A nice city stroll, and some definite ascent, if you walk up from the bus station like I did! | DanHolme | 20/08/2011 |
hmm | simon and co | 20/07/2011 |
Visited all possible gates to this well guarded reservoir compound. | Dugswell2 | 30/01/2011 |
This is a pretty boring top, one that you can't reach truly thanks to a big fence. However it was close by so i drove up to it - job done, back to more interesting things now... | Cap_Thunderbolt | 26/01/2011 |
the ground is definetly higher at the rear of the flats round the corner from the main waterworks entrance | DARRENG | 07/07/2010 |
Ample parking on the side street opposite the gates. Dull top. | The Team | 05/04/2009 |
I claim the top to be the Bread and Bitter pub by the war memorial - much nicer than the reservoir. | Richard | 08/06/2008 |
Took high point by reservoir gate.Nice curio shop opposite | electricratman | 02/06/2008 |
Houdini couldn't get into this one! Might be a better view at night. | chris creedy | 26/05/2008 |
Unsatisfactory urban top bagged on a weekend of Nottinghamshire trigging while better half was at a conference in Eastwood. | andy | 29/09/2007 |
As reservoir is inaccessible did a "drive by", putting feet down at traffic lights. Dire traffic & speed cameras throughout Nottingham. This top is wholly unsatisfying, & I'm not convinced it's as high as the M1 alternative - can't we ditch this one..? | wheresthepath | 27/04/2007 |
caunton | shirley pbgv | 18/12/2006 |
Even the folk in the flats at 649 Porchester Road inside the railings can't get access to the reservoir it's fenced off so effectively. Also Severn Trent signs warn of danger of "deep water" within. | signyred | 17/08/2006 |
