It is indeed a building site, with an undiscernable peak. I will take my soggy feet as equal acheivement to climbing the extra metre. I don't recommend approaching from the north right now either. Bring wellies.joed29324/07/2023
Housing development, as close as I could get for now, aim to come back when finished.David8421/05/2023
Parked at the nearby Newcombe Drive summit. Walked a circular loop, across the M61. This high point is now a building site rather than a golf course - got as close as possible without straying off the footpath.justin_j_evans08/05/2023
Currently being levelled for new development. The boundary bund by the Heras fencing now seems to be the high point.summitter30/08/2022
1 of 3 cycling from Horwich Parkway and back to Boltoncolinfielding31/03/2021
Parked on Anchor Lane, thru hedge past bags of fly tipped rubbish then W over disused golf course. Pleasant enough despite roar of traffic on M61 but not a classic. Mart stayed in car.John Eley25/10/2020
Golf Club no moreGordonAdshead16/09/2020
Field was absolutely sodden...johnkenyon28/12/2019
Parked on Greenhays Rd. Very muddy walk across the field. Top looks to bean old bunker bank.Andrew Pearson26/12/2019
bagged while cycling from carrington to wigan along with top o cowThe-Z-Man03/06/2019
From Moorhey Road. The bank of the ex-green is indeed the highest point although obviously man-made.clivevilla22/04/2019
Parked down Moorheys Road where a man came out of his adjacent house and thoughtfully asked if I was lost. Pointed me to the (signposted) cut-through leading to the summit.moorsman08/03/2019
Parked on small residents car park SD71527 04795. Key to summit area is entrance between houses at SD71471 04770. Looks like the defunct golf course is now used for illicit purposes.David Evans04/03/2019
Really worried I might have got my car nicked here while bagging this waste of timeWayne Mac24/01/2019
Municipal golf course, looks disused, certainly not cared for in any way. Pity all councils don't ditch these things and concentrate on core services. Short walk from end of Moorhey Rd.jonglew26/11/2018

Followed track between houses, past park that no longer exists, through fence and on to golf course. What golf course? It is no more, appears to be in the development plan for housing.Bramley12/06/2017
Parked in Greenheys road and walked between houses. Banking around green surely must be artificial.mart079701/03/2016
Short walk from South. Thought I might as well visit the old location while in area. Hedge bank 50m SSE seemed as high to me not that it matters any more.RHW04/09/2015
a 7 iron not an ice axe for this one.Chris Pearson31/07/2015
On Thirlmere Way, over the Golf Course, cut a corner here.nickywood106/02/2015
Parked in golf club car park. Across deserted course to top. Bank by green.ngthack01/02/2015
Parked in housing estate, walked past Blackley Golf Club shop. Not far to raised banking on side of green - covered with litter on this occasion, had to be removed for the photos.Aye Jimmy26/07/2014
Parked at beginning of short alley 715048. Not a soul on the golf course and only a short distance.destaylor28/02/2014

Easy walk up track from municipal golf course car park. Much better than the one that replaced it as Salford top.simon and co30/07/2013
Not an obvious summit.JohnStoneham07/04/2012
From road.adrianturner17/03/2012
Did this one by bike, access via Brackley Golf Course off Captain Fold Rd. Through car park and along the track at the side of the golf course. Tree in photo is next to the fence (now broken) that would cross coming from Greenheys Road.tim74713/03/2011
Mound next to golf green, or possibly nearby embankment between golf course and playground. Access via path between houses on Greenhays Rd at SD 71458 04854webmaster23/06/2010
10 min bag from Greenheys Road into small park, cross fence and ahead is top on a bank beside green with unnumbered flag; grey windy morning.Dugswell203/10/2009
On a bank beside a green in a golf course. It's an urban course and for once none of the golfers seem too worried about walkers.wheresthepath17/04/2005
