Got the bus from Moor Street station to the south-east corner of the park, then walked up in ten minutes. As it was 11 November a fitting day to visit the memorial on the summit, with great views to the west.Richard11/11/2023
From south entrance, cold and dark but nice views of surrounding area all lit up. Way in was locked when going back down, had to reverse all the way back up in the dark and had no idea if the other entrance was still open. Luckily it was. Probably won't be going back in daylight.Stuzinho07/11/2023
From S. entrance, up to large car park. A short walk to summit & then steps up man-made mound to impressive war memorial with toposcope. Despite the pylons, a fine viewpoint.gerrybowes02/07/2023
Beautiful views, and amazing place to visit. Clearly a place for the unfavourable to visit unfortunately, I won't want to visit again.Brian_Chambers03/06/2023
After a rather cold and blustery night orienteering race. Midlands conurbation - lots of sparkly lightsM3WDD12/01/2023
Gates at the SW corner of the park were closed because it was after dark, so parked in front of them and walked up. This was possibly a mistake. There were a lot of cars with people in them parked up in the dark car park and a strong smell of drugs. Think the other track (coming up from the W) would still have been open - at least those cars must have been planning to get out somehow...Mark Jackson26/11/2022
Main hill of a short day driving and bagging Tumps with brother, Pete. This was my first ever visit despite being a 67 year old Brummie. It used to be prominent in a view from our 3 storey house in Hall Green (S.B'ham) but today low sun and haze meant we couldn't make out anything well to the S; good views over to The Wrekin and Cannock Chase.pwheeler03/01/2022
One-off trip after picking Evie up from Stafford. With Evie and Felix. Nice views of Clees, Long Mynd, Wrekin, Birmingham. Popular with young couples in cars and ham radio enthusiasts.RoguePulsar22/08/2021

Long run exploring some of West Brom!quadbarrel29/04/2021
Last of the 5 Birmingham UACs picked off as a short detour from the M6 on one of the many trips to Scotland. Nice to find an obvious summit (not always the case for Birmingham UACs) though high point is apparently a mound 10m south of war memorial, so not so obvious. Attempted to go to trig but was easily deterred by spike iron fence, confirming I am not (yet) a fully committed trig baggermntainman23/08/2020

Parked in top car park. Walk to War Memorial, then followed fence east from sharp left hand bend in road, along faint path - single fence post missing about 2/3 way alongCreakingHiker18/12/2019
On own. Parked nearby and walked to summit and memorial. Easy. Tried to visit trig point but high fence barring way and couldn’t find any gaps as other baggers found.Beeliner02/10/2019
A quick bag with Eire on the way to dropping him off at University Halls of Residence for Freshers' Week! Forgot to visit the trig though!Dangerous Dave14/09/2019
Attempted to bag this on Friday night at about 8.30pm, but was put off by a car park full of youths in boy racer cars smashing glass everywhere. Returned on Sunday morning when it was a lot quieter. Memorial is obviously man made and felt HP was actually within metal fenced wooded area to S or just outside. Visited trig point to N - follow the road until it meets the metal fence then follow this E until a single bar is missing, allowing access to the reservoir. Top tip - mark where you came in once in the reservoir compound because finding the gap from the other side through thick bushes and trees is virtually impossible as I learnt the hard way.Wheelsy08/09/2019
Parked on large parking area about a two minute walk from summit.David Evans12/08/2019
An amble from the N car park. Identifying the barely discernible summit mound provoked a few raised eyebrows from the Sunday afternoon strollers around the War Memorial.Nick Down121/07/2019
Parked in the free memorial car park for this easy one, had a stroll around and visited the trig as I was curious.WAYNE ROWLETT01/07/2019

4th tump of 5 today having climbed Wrottesley hill and Tettenhall wood from Albrighton then Church hill from Wednesbury metro station i took the 79 bus to Wet Bromwich bus station and the no. 5 to Pheasey, alighting at Collingwood Drive jct then i climbed up via the main road cutting across to minor road near school then onto Beacon Way to cross the road into the country park, and over to summit and war memorial, i then investigated the highest point on the reservoir before dropping onto a track onto the main road and the nearest bus stop near service station for the next bus towards Shireoaks hill.Dazingdale23/06/2018

Did both new and former tops - needed the trig which is at the former, on a covered reservoir.jonglew24/08/2017
Very easy to new re-located summit near memorial, not quite so to get to original one which has a trig. Found missing metal bar in fence eventually, then it's easy but long wet grass.Aye Jimmy20/08/2017
Parked at N car park and ambled along to the south. Great views to the eastRocksRock10/07/2017

Didn't hold out much hope for bagging this trigpoint, then my eagled eyed companion spotted a gap in the fence, initially I thought I couldn't manage it but preserved and was soon within the compound. Lots of diggers etc on site so best to double check before you enter. NIce and quite today on a bank holiday. Walked all round the summit as it was such a lovely day.thejackrustles28/08/2016
Visited before but not logged. This time on a 60 k cycle tour of Black Country tumps. We arrived here as the sun was setting and the domed war memorial glowed, with superb views east and west across urban scenery. Also managed the trig on nearby reservoir. Continued down through Sutton park to the Boldmere Bishop Vesey for beer and curry.Denise 04/08/2016
Last of 5 hills on a day cycle around the West Midlands. My closest Tump and visited many times before. Superb views W at sunset. War memorial with nice toposcope built on mound at high point. Note:- access roads closed to vehicles at 19:00 (earlier in winter or in adverse weather!) Visiting the trig point is a little more of a challenge.RichardM04/08/2016
Parked nearby and walked to the summit and memorial. Walked to the quarry SW of the beacon for a look around.AvidSockWearer15/07/2016
From the southern car park along the road to the war memorialMariana Trench28/05/2016
Final top of the black country region and all covered in a 24 hour period. One of the better tops in terms of view and theres plenty of open space. My overriding experience of these tops though has been the shameful blight of fly tipping all around the lanes and tops of the countryside. People of Birmingham, Wolvo, Solihul,Coventry and Walsall...Don't accept this. Shop those who do it and get your council cleaning up your beauty spots.stig_nest22/04/2016

Large free car park to south side of hill. Excellent views with a very impressive stone war memorial on/near summit. Couldn't get to trig as behind impregnable reservoir compound fencing - but as it is not the highest point not too concerned.Hillsidenick17/12/2013

#3 of 3 today. Getting dark by the time we got here but I'm sure it's a pleasant spot in fine weather. Memorial under restoration while highest point apparently just over the reservoir security fencing.Newton Maximus16/11/2012
Started at car park close to top. Distance = 4.09km. Average moving speed = 5.7km/h. Time moving = 0:42:56.paulnewby8110/11/2012
The first and best of 3 county tops today, had a good explore of the area.magirob07/11/2012
There's also 227 spot height (OS large scale) 120m S by E of the trig. This is next to the war memorial which has had its copper roof and indicator plaque stolen. An easy stroll from the car park. Reservoir fence impregnable.jimbloomer20/07/2012
Done on way to Sutton Park with dog. Short stroll from parking area. Couldn't find gaps in fence, so had to climb over, 'interesting'. clear dry & breezyapricorum29/06/2012
Couldn't find the gap on the east side but found a 'gap' on the north side. More of a hole under the fence but big enough for an adult to get under. From there had to traverse the whole reservoir complex.garyhoney10/04/2012
Gaps still there. All very neat and tidy - fine place.destaylor13/01/2012
