Nice one. With Mrs ngthack. Rare joint ascent. Went to high point to north of trig & obelisk.ngthack30/08/2017
A pleasant walk from Chingford station on a sunny day. Picnic lunch on the bench below the obelisk and trig. From there, the tree on the apparent high point forms the apex of an isosceles triangle, with the obelisk and trig as its base.Nick Down117/08/2017
Parked on Mornington, short walk, good view, trig point an obelisk, marking meridian line and a plaque about TE Lawrence. Proper hill unlike other London ones I have done.alwaysinshorts26/06/2017

Great views, bagged during a 32km long trail run in Epping Forestreno21/03/2015
Great views of the tall buildings of London through the trees. Very quick walk up from Woodberry Way.Mark Sims16/03/2015
Night ascent. A well walked spot (dog walkers).A tall obelisk declares the meridian line is 19 feet to east (probably where trig pillar sits). Someone had chalked under the monument this is not the highest point! probably true as grassy patch @80 metres north may have the edge. TE Lawrence was fond of this area building a hut and small swimming pool, his connection reflected in nearby street names e.g Arabia CloseChris Pearson11/03/2015
Mike Dyall died today - a good friend. From flash housing estate. Meridian and T E Lawrence connections make this a special hill.arranc09/10/2014
Pleasant walkingBazWylie13/11/2013
Only a short stroll from Chingford station but agree it feels like a hill.squeegs22/08/2013
Definitely one of the better LBTs. At least it is a proper hill requiring some ascent, for which you are rewarded with excellent views. Even a trig at top as a bonus + interesting meridian obelisk with a plaque to TE Lawrence. Walked from free CP by golf club house.Hillsidenick21/07/2013
Last one of 8 "Essex" tops today and the best of the lot, only a short walk from the car but a great view into central Londonheavyhorses04/05/2013

Fifteen of London Borough tops in 14 hours by bike from Kew. This one was visited 2h 40 min from start at Kew. Pole just a few feet from GMT meridian, and used as sightline towards the north. Not a good view today due to haze, but good potential here.NilsOS09/10/2010
