Logged Descriptions  (logged by 15 users)ByDate of Ascent
From Invertrossach CP, cycle tour of Dun na Beinne, Meall Ear and Drunkie Hill. Left cycle 150m N of summit, then SW up tree break towards col then steeply SE to summit.Topographer5724/02/2024
Ascended from SW. A bit of ducking required.sclater19/03/2023
A cakewalk after Gownan but new plantings on north side may cause future problems.lordtonult20/04/2022
After Gownan, descended a short way W then NE via clear fall and heathery ride to gain Ear - not difficult. 3 summit candidates - easternmost probably higher as per map. Descended N, best to keep L lower down to escape plantation. Followed forest roads NW then up Mhadaidh.RHW09/12/2018
From Craig Gownan. Very rough going with fallen and cut trees. Awful underfoot. Good view at top. Decide to descend eastwards to tracks. Awful but mercifully short. Then back along tracks to start of Loch Achray Forest Drive.Campbell Singer30/07/2018
meal ear and craig gownan with jamie parked on forest track sharp bend C/W route to quarry on tracks up to meall ear down to col up through young trees to gownan and return to track.robertphillips03/06/2018
Northern approach from forest track up green mossy east bank towards col, then zigzag animal tracks to reach steep ridgeajwxyzt25/02/2018
Free parking at start of forest drive. Left forest road at bend N of top, and followed rough open area to col to northwest. Then deer tracks to summit - heathery lump with fairly open trees.Back to col then reasonable going in small valley to SW, heading for Creag GownanPeteN03/06/2017
Done after Craig Gowran. Ascent was through mature trees so not too difficult but a felled area west of the top was appalling. I retreated directly south to the track. Suffering from a virus, I'll admit to being completely cream crackered following those two hillsColin Crawford15/10/2015
From start of forest drive (gated bit, parking free here). Good track then ghastly forrest break. Raain just off, clouds clearing, good views.iangalbraith30/06/2013
1 attempt from the Visitor Centre to the SW. Good track then steep and forested - possible but difficult. Next day from the NW viewing area region. Good track until about 250m from summit. Then forestry remains and fairly steep. Not too pleasant. Easy parking at both starts - paying.destaylor11/02/2013
