Biked up to the top gate from Dun Athain. Did not bother lifting bike over it due ice nd snow beyond. I detest those wire mesh gates with a passion. Hopefully some provision will be put in when the decrepit fence is replaced. Very fine day with good views of snow covered big stuff (was on Beinn an Dothaidh the day before) | fasgadh | 07/12/2020 |

Train to Dalmally. Minor road to Dùn Athaich, then maintenance road south through forest to transmission mast about 164230. Three gates on this road – first one with pedestrian gate at side; second at entrance to forest chained, with opening link not obvious (climbed gate before finding it); third at exit from forest doubly padlocked, so necessary to climb fence at side. Rough pasture (boggy in places) from mast to summit – two tops of almost identical height. Mainly sunny with some cloud. Views up to Black Mount hills as well as to Beinn Laoigh, Ben Cruachan, and Ben More (Mull). Onwards in more or less a straight line to West Top. | mainnirnamfiadh | 09/09/2017 |
