From Benvane, on my own (rest of the group went back to Ballimore). Heavy going in soft snow especially coming off Benvane and along the edge of the plantation, but no real difficulties. Straight down back to Ballimore.Owen B25/02/2022
Beinn an t-Sìdhean, Strathyrehummusg25/02/2022
An easy but steep walk on the good, way-marked FC path through the forest from Strathyre main car park. Higher up, the path degenerates into a soggy mess, then gets drier on the grassy climb towards An Sidhean. The walk along to the main summit is pretty soggy and, today, seriously windy.Gill24/10/2021
From Ballimore, across the river, then track, variably distinct, SW leading onto the ridge continuing to Benvane summit, returned part way along ridge to ca NN527149, descended E to Glen Buckie, crossing the stream near the edge of the conifer plantation, then followed the forest edge up to the ridge S of the summit of Beinn an t-Sithein, and along to the summit, retraced about 1km S then descended NW to Immeroin (but lost the path marked on the 1:50000 map), ended on the farm track S of Immeroin, followed it through farm and back to Ballimorekdbennett07/05/2021
As per Walkhighlands Beinn an t-Sidhean route, extended to Beinn Luidh. Short, steep walk with great views.TRG31807/03/2021
Up the way marked path from Strathyre to An Sidhean, then along the ridge path to Beinn an t-Sidhean. Met a couple of German holidaymakers looking for some advice on the best way down, so took them along to Buachaille Breige and the northern flank to meet the forest track back to Strathyre. Lovely walk on a very sunny day.summitter02/10/2020

From village car park, path all the way to the top. Starts off as a good signposted tourist track but a bit boggy towards top of the forest and in parts along the ridge. Good short outing, total up and down about 2hrs 15mins walking time.JulieB26/08/2019
With RW, from Stathyre. A nice hill for a not-so-nice day.amswanston04/08/2019
With Tali heading home. From Strathyre villageMountain Goat28/07/2019
Parking opposite forest gate at NN559176 (soft ground). Up forest roads W, then S, then SW up steep hardcore path. Wet, muddy and vague at end of hardcore, but it improved to top of An Sidhean. Back-tracked 50m for faint L fork onto ridge 'path' to summit. Caution - the tempting onward path N from the summit soon faded out and I was left in a mess of fences, heather and bad tussock grass, on the E flank. I chanced upon an ATV track at about NN546180, which led easily down to the forest road at about NN551188. Beset with midges and flies aplenty.Isbjorn23/06/2019
Solo trip. Good to note the presence of pine martens in Strathyre Forest.Invicta1416/05/2019
From An Sidhean. Then went north and northwest, then easily through the trees down to a forest road.Alan Moore05/04/2019

From west side. V windy but stayed dry. Low cloud on some hills but fine view of Vorlich. Rounsfell13/10/2017
Walked from Strathyre up steep track and then up steep grass and heather to false summit then followed faint path to true top. Return by same route but found vague path avoiding worst of the steep heather.wozzat18/06/2017
The Mica guide route, taking in An Sidhean - central top - main summit - Lost Gate Summit. An outstanding walk with good paths, part from so9me sketchy bits on descent and glorious views throughout.Nick Down102/01/2017

From Ballimore, up good path and animal tracks to summit and geocache.AndrewFinnimore15/03/2016
With Hazel from Strathyre village. Pleasant if steep walk up thro' forest on way marked forest trail which eventually emerges above felled area offering great views S to Loch Lubnaig. Leave right of way and head N to summit. Ensure you take in first summit just as you reach ridge for superb views S. Another cracking day with brilliant views to higher peaks. One other walker met near summitSpudGunn09/03/2016
With Jenx from near school at Strathyre. Waymarked path however ridiculously steep in places 1:3 it seemed. Onto open fell then via the Sidhein to the Beinn in wet windy conditions. Glad to bag this and escape back to the forest. The wet winter continues! :-)nordicstar18/12/2015
Raining and a howling gale made a nice hill less nice.jenx18/12/2015

From Strathyre. After ascending An Sidhein. From the base of the final steep climb to An Sidhien I found a path leading after a short distance across a stile on to the summit of Beinn an t-Sidhein. This path is not so well trodden as the one leading to An Sidhein, but is still for the most part very obvious. There is a tiny cairn on the summit of Beinn an t-Sidhein. I continued to the point 45m to the NE where the land is said to be of the same height as at the cairn. A stone has been placed at the point where somebody presumably thinks the highest point of this land is although it is very flat round about and it is difficult to be sure which point is actually the highest. I returned past the base of the final ascent up An Sidhein and so down to Strathyre.pwbellarby04/10/2015
Straight run up from Strathyre, beautiful day.Colinmac200505/09/2015
Quiet a slog up after leaving the forest track. Headed due east to the forest then back to Strathyre.Play2End27/03/2015

Lazy day. Laundry day. But still got wet through. Recent felling means new path opened through forest however quite muddy. Looks like they are creating a viewpoint in perfect place to see caravan site!Martin R22/10/2011
Started from Strathyre school. The Sithean path was open despite a notice at a nearby car park that it is closed until December. Ascent mostly on smooth but heavy bulldozed track through forestry clearance. Path indistinct on higher slopes.Topographer5711/10/2011
