A lovely hill positioned by the glacial overflow channel. I tried to do a direct line from Creag nan Adhaircean but failed. I ended up by the tarn of Lochan na Doire-uaine and having to clamber over boulders. Pleasant going east until the boggy ground of Allt an t-Sluic was reached. | Alan Moore | 13/01/2023 |
5th of 5 Dodds from 636876, then followed the Ardverikie power lines down to the Allt An't Sluic Lodge track and back up the main road to the car. | NormanW | 29/08/2021 |
We descended almost due North from Creag nan Adhaircean via steep, interesting, deer trod. Fine rocky surroundings. | Tony S | 25/06/2021 |
From Creag nan Adhaircean - not wanting to walk right round Lochan na Dorie-uaine, I descended NW towards head of lochan. Found a very obvious superb deer trod part way up the steep sided cliff edge to head of lochan and dam head. Crossed via large boulders and soon found another excellent trod up the NW banking, thereby avoiding nasty stones along the lochan edge. Magic! | carole engel | 24/09/2020 |
After Creag nan Adhaircean, via the narrow defile - entertaining! | PGCE | 19/07/2020 |
Parked at Dalwhinnie by rail bridge, walked along A889 to track for Allt An't Sluic lodge, ca 1km along track, then turned left across ford and along track to NE ridge of The Fara, continuing from track end on intermittent tracks to summit, then down NW ridge (following fence line), skirting W end of Dirc Mhor, turning NNE along ridge to Creag nan Adhaircean, descending N round to Dirc Bheag, SE to the high point on the col within Dirc Bheag, then ascending Meall nan Eagan SW top, descending N, then turning NE to summit of Meall Eagan, descending SW, crossing Allt an t-Sluic and rejoining track back to A889 | kdbennett | 29/09/2019 |
