From Reindeer centre for a round of Bynack Beg, A' Choinneach and Creag Mhor.rhalstead11/09/2023
Solo from Glen More. Bike to FB over the Nethy. You could prob go a bit further, but there are loads of big rills crossing the path. Then path ascent of Bynack More and back down to the junction of the path with the Lairig an Laoigh path. Easy path and easy ascent of Creag Mhor to stand on the small tor at the top. Only hiccup is the descent looks possible, if fairly untested, from Barns of Bynack to the high point of the path N of Glasath – thus shortening the distance between the 2 summits considerably. Return via easy paths to Glen MoreDampandDusty09/09/2023
A stroll between Glenmore and Faindouran bothy. The hills were still very much in winter condition and the approach from the path to the west had some deep plungesColin Crawford14/04/2023
Solo from Glenmore - took track along past the green lochan, and then branched off to cross the River Nethy and followed the Lairig an Laoigh to just below the summit of Creag Mhor and made my way up to the summit tor. Original plan had been to then drop down to the Fords of Avon, along to the Saddle and then up to Bynack More and back out via the Lairig an Laoigh path again. However the weather deteriorated enough by the time I reached the corbett, than I abandoned that plan and just headed back the way I came. Total time 5h 5min.mproudfoot02/10/2022
From Glenmore Lodge, by bike along tracks to footbridge over Nethy (NJ021104), then along tracks through pass between Bynack More and Creag Mhòr, SE up slopes to summit tor of Creag Mhòr from just before top of track, return same way (5h40m [4h25m from Nethy footbridge])kdbennett25/06/2022
From Glenmore Lodge via L an Leacach. Return via the Saddle. Glorious hot sunny day. Quieter once got deeper in though fair number of folk around. Dipped into Fords of Avon refuge. Corbett dull but great tor and good views to Shelter Stone Crag. Easy walking mostly though Strath Nethy tediously stony and would have been very wet most times of year. A fabulous route with great views at Loch Avon. Swam in an Lochan Uaine at end. Brilliant.niallp23/06/2022
Out and back from Caingorm Ski centre. Shorter than from Glenmore and I think a more interesting route, albeit more ascent. Ptarmigan, the Saddle, Loch Avon, Fords of Avon, short distance north up the path, then pathless but easy going to the summit. Lovely route in a part of the Cairngorms I haven't seen before but got soaked and a bit cold on the way back. The paths are rather bouldery in a couple of places and frequently wet but no real problems.Owen B23/05/2022
Excellent walk from Cairn Gorm CP (NH989063) - £3 or free on access road. Path indistinct dropping from col between Cnap Coire na Spreidhe and Cairn Gorm into Glen Avon. Easy ground off track along Allt Dearg to top. Loved it and total ascent (4,100') nothing arduous. 12.7 lovely miles. Much recommended over the long trek in from Glen morecarole engel15/05/2022
Fabulous. 9 hours end to end. From ski centre up to Ptarmigan, over plateau, down to Saddle, out to Fords of Avon, up the hill, then down to Larig an Laoigh path for long walk out to Glenmore Lodge. Superb Autumn day.Fife Walking06/10/2021

Solo fr P at NH980094, long long track to run then long paths. Heatwave (32°C in London, 25°C in Inverness), pleasant temperatures on tops and good blue skies but a relentless hot S wind, making running hard work and frustrating!NorfolkPT2123/07/2019

With Bynack More. Parked at Hayfield. Partial inversion at summit. Rolling cloud. Rime ice, little snow. Wore microspikes for some. Rounsfell05/01/2019
During a windy week in Tomintoul. Started from road next to the Reindeer Centre, along to Glenmore Lodge & followed tracks round to the site of Bynack Stable. Continued up broad ridge where Smithy headed up Bynack More & then over the undulations to a point about 300m short of Lochan a Bhainne. Headed straight up to great view from interesting summit block. Returned the same way pausing at Bynack Stable to dunk my feet in the river. Suitably numbed/refreshed, continued taking the blue waymarked higher alternative path back to the start. All sorts of funghi spotted, some at quite high elevations.NotReallyABagger10/09/2018
From Glenmore lodge, cycled to river Nethy then paths most of the way to summit. Further than Bynack More and, there and back, more ascent.Topographer5724/07/2018

From Cairngorm Lodge YHA. All thoughts of cycling to Bynack Stable (no stable) were abolished by the rain. I keep forgetting that the paths have been repaired, so it’s an easy walk, albeit with a lot of up and down. Almost got a view from the top.Gill07/05/2017

MC JC. On run up to final Corbett. Weather forecast was thunderstorms for the afternoon over the Cairngorms. Left home at 4am and Glenmore Lodge at dawn. Good path. Hills clear and ground hard underfoot.Sharp shower in Lairig an Laoigh, otherwise very muggy and not a breath of wind. Flatish tor on top. Return by same route.Martin6623/05/2010
Ascended from Glenmore Lodge. Long walk in on a great day. Unfortunately a virus I had picked up kicked in and made the walk out from Loch Avon to Cairngorm hard work. Fortunately, old snow made the descent straightforwardgman15/05/2010

Climbed from the Fords of Avon on easy slopes onto a plateau very similar to Beinn Mheadhoin and Ben Avon with the large tor as a great place for a well deserved cup of teatorkm05/07/2009
