Pleasant open grassy slopes to clear summit. Red deer Stags and hinds on top! | bertbarnett123 | 21/09/2021 |
Ascended from Cragton by the track and then the edge of the wood. Heavy rain shower on the top. A pleasant hill and ascent. Two deer fences had to be crossed with styles but the only deer I saw were in the wood itself. | JohnW | 09/08/2021 |
Easy access via track to south of hill by (new) stile at caNO407620 to open ground. | Tony S | 30/12/2020 |
Auld man and benscravie visited both areas from parking near entrance to craigton. | robertphillips | 26/02/2020 |
From SSW, Craigton entrance. Tracks & fairly open forest. 2 HP candidates, E of fence or W of cairn. Then SE and W to Auld Man. | RHW | 26/12/2018 |
Parked on verge opposite Craigton Cottage turn-off. Easy enough ascent via various tracks and firebreaks, apart from an awkward fence crossing on exiting the forest. | Lindsay M | 14/01/2018 |
I went up the edge of the trees from just south of Glack. The immediate forest has been felled but a good route ascends between forest fence and tree debris, with a stile/window in the fence part way up. Vague tracks then lead up the open ground to the east. There are three possible rises, the one to the south with a collapsed cairn. The obvious cairn to the east is lower but the ground above it looks possible. The other contender is to the north by the forest fence. Altimeter and eye couldn't decide between them | Colin Crawford | 04/11/2017 |
