Named no doubt from the gritty weathered granite remains. Hard to imagine how hydrolysis -chemical weathering by slightly acidic rainwater can break up such a resistant rock, which was once rising molten magma that cooled and solidified underground. Jogged back from here towards Clachnaben to Mount Shade | Chris Pearson | 26/08/2019 |
On way from Clachnaben to Mount Battock, the track builders had left a roller and a digger up there with the keys left in ! | Flatfield | 15/07/2019 |

A non-hill really, just a morass of peat hags and a ridiculously wide scar of a road created for fat, lazy, grouse worriers. Did see a few Golden Plover though .... which was nice. | summitter | 17/06/2017 |
By bike, on the way to Mount Battock. A lot of work has been done on the roads recently after flood damage in July 2015 and worse in December 2015. Summit is a peat bank above the remains of the once infamous electric fence. | fasgadh | 15/05/2016 |
On the way to the Corbett. Really grim up here in the rain and fog. | Play2End | 06/04/2014 |
