Fell run. 3x reps from the gate to the summit. 7.25 miles in total. Snowy on top, quite cold. Mild and rainy at bottom.w1ght01/11/2023
Parked at the end of the road to the NE of the hill. Up past the pigs on a good track, passing the ruined farm at Moniemouies. Track goes all the way up to the mast. Trig has a hat! Solo.Dangerous Dave30/10/2023
Fell run up the land rover track. Pretty flat on top, couldn't say for certain any poi t was significantly higher than the trig point but had a wander down anyway.w1ght27/10/2023
From road end to NE. OK, but Dreich day. Used bike on first bit, not worth it though.davechaffey03/08/2023

Good advice about the track from Teindland Mains to Moniemouies alongside the piggy farm. Made for a quick access and no problems this way.nickywood111/09/2022

Easy ascent on track from Teindland Mains.nicolajane03/01/2022
From end of the public road via Moniemouies. Good track to the trig where I enjoyed a miniature of Johnnie Walker Red Label which someone had kindly left in a plastic box.sclater28/02/2021
From Logieburn - but beware, the section of track marked on the map east of Humbreck is full of gorse. New track to mast comes in from the east near Moniemouies.Winterfloodian16/08/2020
Made a mistake by taking the supposed track that starts at 261566. It started well, but ended in gorse and self-recrimination for not following the advice of others. Anyway, put my head down and thrashed straight up through the heather to the Trig and nearby summit. The sight of the hooded trig cheered me up. Went back down the track and avoided the worst of the gorse by going across lower sheep-grazed fields. You live and learn (sometimes).summitter03/08/2020
Climbed from the A941 starting 1 km south east of the quarry. Easy walk up heathery slopesSimon Winton06/01/2020
From Teindland (NJ275562), via Moniemouies and unmapped linking track to NJ265562, then on track to comms mast.Isbjorn30/12/2018

Followed same route as Nordicstar et al. Straight forward. No issues.assynt_bob09/06/2018
Fairly direct route from Millbuies, with track most of the way, rough descent SE via Findlay's Seat, which is a confusing area.Chris Peart19/05/2018

The voie normale from Monimouies, with the track covered in snow ice. Cute trig point wearing a hat. The track is a bit of a mess, and it's all a bit scruffy. Not as interesting as other walks around here, though views are good.Gill30/12/2017

On route to lossiemouth, up from moniemouies as others have said. good call, other track does not exist.hils11/06/2017
Parked in a lay-by just before the junction for Teindland Mains and then walked to the ruin of Moniemouie along the track and then continued on the service track to the radio antenna to the trig and then to the actual summit a bit further SE. With Chris and BenPeterb16/05/2017

From Logieburn. As others have said this was a mistake as path overgrown with gorse. Better to follow the Moniemouies advice below.Lionel Bidwell04/11/2016
Climbed from Logieburn. Track shown does not exist resulting in 500m of heather bashing - no big deal especially if you are climbing in winter. Try climbing via Moniemouies as suggested by others if you prefer track.raffemeister15/09/2016
Self, Peter and dog. Easy ascent, fine view of Ben Rinnes (which was my last Corbett 2 years ago)Invicta1416/08/2016
Straightforward, good track all the way.hillsman16/05/2016
From Logieburn - horrible - see pwbellarby.jimbloomer22/04/2016
With Jenx at end of day. As Big J and Viewfinder. Straightforward except for the ice on track and recent washout. Trig is the best high spot with Geocache, visited the lump a few yards away for the record.nordicstar17/01/2016
From road end at Moniemouies. Very icy. 5th hill today and not the best!jenx17/01/2016
Ascended via Moniemouies on a good track. A bit cloudy but still good views all round. Was bagging the trig. With CJW.BigJ19/10/2015
From end of public road at 276563 via deserted steading at Moniemouies. Contrary to the 50k map, this track leads all the way to the summit, which tracks shown from other directions do not.Topographer5728/09/2015

Parked at 235502 and followed tracks and then hard going over rough moor to mast. NE side would be betterThearlaichdubh03/05/2015
Here for the trigpoint. 'Findlays Seat' TP:UK log: Took totally the wrong route to this, the zig zag path from Logieburn disappears into thick gorse, impassible, had to head straight up the heather, hard going, suggest you find the route with the big track up to the mast. Another square one bagged.thejackrustles31/12/2014
Bit annoying this one! Parked just before Logieburn and up track which disappeared (wrong again OS!) so forced to plod up northern slopes which were quite hard going - should've gone up mast track via Moniemouies.AndrewFinnimore19/09/2014
It started off easy enough, parked right at the end of the road where this path started, but it soon became apparent that the path was really overgrown with gorse, so it was a heather bash for quite a long time. Better is the start off from the track earlier on the road, it is slightly longer, but much easier. track all the way to the top. Trig had a metal top.tallblond06/06/2014
windy day but good viewsNozzer02/02/2014
Solo walk, from Teindland side.amswanston10/11/2013
Solo. From end of public road near Logieburn farm, Teidland. My map showed only one track to the summit of Brown Muir so I attempted to follow it. It went SW towards a farm building called Humbeck. Just short of Humbreck there is a track junction with the track to Brown Muir turning sharp left. However, I found the track towards Brown Muir full of gorse and disused to such an extent that I could not follow the track. Walked on adjacent field until deciding to strike up the hillside. Going was tough with much thick heather. Eventually came to wide gravel track that took me to the summit cairn. OS 1:50,000 suggests the highest point is slightly SE of trig point and only 1m higher. Didn't go there. Tried a different descent route but this was even worse than the ascent. Weather dry and quite warm.pwbellarby30/06/2013

Simple up and down from Teindland side of hill, ample parking at NJ275564, near a minor road/track junction. Walk up past Moniemouies and follow track to summit with mast. Dog friendly.sotabagger03/02/2012
Took the fairly direct line up from Fogwatt. Tracks via Humbreck not recommendable - the tranmitter access track actually continues down past the delapidated Moniemouies farm (which provided shelter from the snow shower to sort out some bearings).Smudge29/12/2011
Dry, sunny, mild, good views.iangalbraith21/03/2010
Revisit. TP large, squat c. 600 x 600mm with sides vertical. Big pointed cast iron cover lying broken on the ground. Immediately SE of mast, at end of track. #12 of 24 Marilyns in 24h with Brent Lynam in the driving seatRHW24/02/2007
From the Millbuies country park by tortuous route that could, possibly, be avoided on new paths to N.Eddie03/09/2004
On track through beasts, which got very wet, covered in gorse and impossible to get through. Uphill in gully in long grass and onto open moor over heather to another track and to top at 10.15. Heavy iron cover on top of trig.arranc25/07/2004

Date is first visit. Notes from later...'Big Trig' c.600mm sq, vertical sides, CI cap; summit a heather knoll immed SSE as 1:50k, decent hill & view, fairly tough scenic ascent from W. (1) A941 tk from 243545, dis rly S a short way then straight up thru pasture & wdld then deep heather (2) from N via track RHW26/08/2001
