First day of an OMC meet at the Raeburn Hut north of Dalwhinnie. I parked my car at Luiblea, from where Andy Moffat gave me a lift back to Aberarder. From here I crossed the Allt Dubh and after some heather bashing, I followed a boggy ATV track up the SE slope of Sron a' Choire. There was thick mist on top, following the ridge WNW to the second Top of Puist Coire Ardair. After waiting for ten minutes for the mist to clear, I gave up and moved on. After dropping 10m, the mist burned off and the view of Creag Meaghaid plateau opened up and there were inverisons in all directions. Followed by Meall Coire Choille-rais and An Cearcallach. The descent was very steep and unpleasant but I found a track on the east side of the Moy Burn, which I raced down trying to get back to my car before sunset, 07:25hrs all in.chillyman813/11/2021

Solo. I left car on main road near Luiblea. Walked to the west of the minor top of Tom Bàn and steeply up to the summit of An Cearcallach. Continued to Meall Coire Choille-rais. These were two Munro tops I had wanted to reach as part of completing a second round of Munros and tops. Did a couple of Corbett tops, too.pwbellarby10/06/2006

Alone. A circuit of Beinn a’ Chaorainn and Creag Meagaidh along with various tops. From Beinn a’ Chaorainn, where the mist had descended, to Bealach a’ Bharnish where I came out of the mist for a few minutes. To Creag Meagaidh (hail storm, wind rising), continuing over Mad Meg’s Cairn to Meall Coire Choille-Rais. A little further SE on a rocky point the mist lifted for a superb view of Loch Laggan. Minutes later I was in mist again. To An Cearcallach. The wind was now very strong - I could hardly stand on the summit rocks. There was much cold rain as I continued to other tops and down to the road.pwbellarby21/06/1980
