Loch Fyne head car park - Inverchorachan - very steep, wet, brackeny and in places scrambly path up to hydro track, which it crosses and then ascends steeply to the summit ridge - Beinn Bhuidhe E Top - cut across to hydro track and followed this very impressive piece of engineering back to Auchreoch, with a diversion to Newton Hill: 14.8 miles, 1100m ascent, 7 hours.Mark Jackson25/07/2023

I'd been up the 'tourist route' in 2014 and returned to do Mid Argyll's only Munro from Glen Shira in Mid Argyll. We started from the bridge at 167186 and followed the telegraph poles up S to the ridge then ENE to the summit. About 4hrs walking.DavieRuts09/07/2023

Normal approach from A83 - went up E side of river due to activity at gravel bit and forestry work. Low cloud. Lots of snow from 500m. Very poor vis and emerged onto col into a howling gale. Hard to see where snow ended and cloud began - took a while to work along ridge to summit. Return same routewychwood19/01/2023

From Achadunan car park. Climbed up on the unmarked track just before Glenfyne Lodge. Detoured to Newton Hill summit. Followed track to the end and then contoured(ish) over to the ridge end at Ceann Garbh, then back to Beinn Bhuidhe East Top, Beinn Bhuidhe, Stac a' Chuirn East Top and Stac a' Chuirn. Returned to Beinn Bhuidhe summit and took the path back down before branching off to Meall an Daimh. From there a moorland walk to Beinn Chas and continued to Clachan Hill trig. I then dropped back to the parking which wasn't a recommended route due to steep valley and vegetation! Clear on all summits, good views. Solo.meltdiceburg17/09/2022

With Pete. Out & back from the car park just off the A83 next to the entrance to the quarry. Track through the forest was closed for forestry works, so used the lower path to the west of the river for the approach (but returned via the eastern track to visit the Fyne Ales Brewery Taproom on return). The hydro road took us up to almost 600m. Obvious path heads north-west from hydro road near the top of Allt na Faing. Hot & sunny, although some breeze at the top.millionmts11/08/2022

Bluebird day. Followed WH route. Cycled 6k in and out to the signed gate. Steep hot climb to the summit with a couple of tiny snowfields towards the top. Heat haze meant that no views of islands but good views of local mountains. Steep grassy descent. Needed lots of water because of the sun. 6 hoursalexmaclennan28/03/2022

Solo, after driving from Annandale Water Services J16, running fr NN193127 9am, already warm in solid sunshine, up LRTs to quite near top. Good views, though quite a lot of low cloud still burning off. No wind! Pleasant on top, idled a few minutes while first argumentative companion left and second, friendlier couple joined me! Brisk descent running nearly all the way down other LRT and through quarry (hot by then!). Back at car 1pm and drove through Inveraray and Ft Wm to Corpach and excellent 2nd floor apt in 'Caledonian House'.NorfolkPT2115/07/2021

Another day and another Munro, this time Beinn Bhuidhe (948m) in Argyll, accessed from the A83 at head of Loch Fyne between Inveraray and Rest and be Thankful. I cycled up Glen Fyne, then hiked up from Inverchorachan along the Allt na Faing. The weather was quite sunny form the start and into the corrie, but once I reached the hydro track the rain started. This meant there no views at all on top, 6:55hrs all in.chillyman810/07/2020

From Loch Fyne, a walk up Glen Fyne to the Allt na Faing and up the path to the summit. From there we walked towards the east top then down to the track and back down it via Newton Hill past the quarry to the start to make it a loop. Trig revisit. Top half of a toppled stonebuilt pillar incorporated into summit cairn: top loops and centre tube but no spider. No summit view but Cruachan from the SW top was superb. 10h (!) circuit from head of Loch Fyne (parking by old bridge): Bhuidhe + Clachan + the GT and 3 CTs. In snowshoes but still heavy going in deepish snow. Track in Glen icy most of the way back. Replaced by surface block according to OS trig archive.RHW04/12/2010

Loch Shira-Stac a Chuirn-Beinn Bhuidhe-Strachan by Loch Fyne. Interesting through walk recommended in SMC guides and made practicable by good bus service. The key to getting through plantations from valley was start at 156167, pass place where two burns almost meet and emerge onto ridge at approx 158171.Note my date of ascent, though. Fine views in sunshine, Ben Cruachan stands out. Steep start to descent- good scenery here, then long walk out.pwheeler24/03/2007

After staying at Crianlarich Youth Hostel. Solo. I started from the head of Loch Fyne walking along the road to Clachan Power Station. I took the branch track through Merk Forest and beyond to the track end. I continued NE to follow the easiest break in the slopes to reach a plateau area at ~ 600m. There was new lying snow from here onwards. I skirted the summit of Meall an Daimh to the east and went up what seemed the easiest line through the crags. I followed the east ridge to reach the summit of Beinn Bhuidhe. There is very little left of the trig point. I descended via the outward route. The weather was mixed – some rain shortly after the start and towards the end. There was a little hail and snow higher up, but it was mostly dry.pwbellarby22/02/1998

Finished work at 10PM in Barrow. Solo drive overnight through nasty fog on motorway. 1 hour sleep in car. awoke to low cloud strong SW winds, Drove up to Gelnfyne Lodge. 1st outing for my resoled Scarpa Bronzo boots. Long grind up grass became snow became hard icy wind and spindrift battered ice hard summit ridge - hard to make progress upright, despite having a long walker's axe. Photo of ice encrusted trig pillar. Began to feel exhausted from effort and lack of sleep. Harder to climb down again safely through craggy bits. Long rough descent -navigating in gloom and feel for the slope. Drove to the immaculate and almost empty Argartan YH - checked in - slept from 4pm to 8pm, got up- made a spag bol, and went back to bed for a good night's sleep!Chris Pearson05/03/1986
With two friends. We left the locked gate in Glen Shira near Eilean an Eagaill and walked up a tarmac track alongside Brannie Burn and then through forest (rough track). At the end of the forest we struck up the hillside to a col SW of the top of Beinn Bhuidhe and then went along to the summit. The descent was via the same route. On the summit areas and ridge there was a very strong wind. It was very cold with thick mist and snowing, conditions getting worse. I got separated from my friends near the summit and descended separately until out of the mist.pwbellarby04/01/1986
