4 of 5: From Tom na Gabhar. Fence difficult as described by Norman. Then heather to the track near the top. With Karen.ChrisR29/01/2024
Parked opposite track to Invernettie (NJ 3419 1529). Ladylea Hill and Clashenteple Hill first then across to here, via Katie McCallum's cairn, on a good track. On to Hill of Cummerton and return for a 10.6k round.jonglew23/11/2023
From summit of Clashenteple Hill, followed fence down to Moss of Deochry then followed track up to summit187lenny23/05/2021
Made a complete hash of choosing a sensible heather free route. Started from Auld Cummerton house and soon lost the track above the fields in the heather / bracken. Ploughed upwards in a lather of sweat though 500m of uphill heather linking islands of grass under trees. The joy of a path to Mid Hill was short lived as I was soon forced off piste again by a non linking path to struggle through The Moss of Deochry - high grass and bog / over a deer fence and around ponds to the bliss of a forest track and easy ride up the tump of Tom na Gabhar. From here the outing settled down into a more sensible routine of just plain hard graft to maintain a good pace on this after work sweep of tops before rejoining L and T & D at Ballater for a not too late supper.Chris Pearson07/09/2020
Parked up a in a large hard-standing area about about 350m south of Tornagawn and took a track in the forest which eventually got us to Mid Hill. Next along the same track to Hill of Cummerton, before returning back to Mid Hill and following a further track all the way to Clashenteple Hill. We then parallel the deer fence NW to just shy of Ladylea Hill summit - quite hard going in snow and heather, but helped by an ATV track some of the way. Returned via a path cut through the new plantation to Invernettie, then back along the road to the car. Nice round trip given the high winds and snow.summitter23/02/2020
