Up ridge line from ESpudGunn26/01/2024
From track entrance to NW. windblown trees on track, some branches cut to easy journey a litle. Higher up i rebuilt a cairn which markes the start of good track to open moor and trigpillarcjo01/10/2023
Easy walk up grassy field from SE followed by easy heather and blaeberry..trig S8717 numerically randomly wedged between number sequences on Arran..! Why would people risk unknown wind blown trees on the other side. Fascinating farm family history from Chris Pearson below from Dec 2020vegibagger17/06/2023
Good parking NJ 5672 0721. Tracks to cairn at NJ 5676 0683 (second cairn), where very good path up. (First cairn OK but second cairn route much easier)carole engel11/08/2021
2nd ascent. With L up through the sheep fields from our holiday cottage to the south. The farmer inherited his farm (now sheep and Angus cows) from his grandad who bought the farm when he retired on a good pension at the age of just 40 from a career with Foreign Office reporting to Lord Kitchner. The current farmer's brother inherited upper half of this hill but has not bothered with it for 10 years -so gorse, bracken, heather have taken hold. Easy enough from east. Fascinating collection of abandoned scrap vehicles of all vintages at Gilgerie. Views still good from top. L came back up again in the afternoon.Chris Pearson15/12/2020
Circular from parking slot opposite hotel to NW. Track to NJ568069 before zagging up NW flank and descending via forest edge untill rejoining track at its E loop.Smudge23/12/2019
Much higher and prominent than the hills further south around Aboyne, but with the roads climbing higher, so little ascent left on foot. Done during my long Thursday lunchtime, easily up grass and heather on animal tracks from small quarry to east in bright sunshine in a cold NE wind, which produced an icy rain shower. My wish for the rain to stop -happened - but not before it briefly turned to sleet on the summit.. . and then the sun came out- glistening off a large area of flooded flat fields below to the south.Chris Pearson28/11/2019

Bagging the trig.BigJ30/11/2018
Heading for the trigpoint and bagged the 'hill' on the way, seemed to be lower than the trigpoint to me? Parked at N57° 09.256' W2° 42.996' and headed up the track. Luckily there is a geocache at the trigpoint and the waypoints given on the cache where very useful. Turn here N57° 09.173' W2° 42.814' then onto N57° 09.100' W2° 42.892' then when you get to N57° 09.032' W2° 42.963' which is marked by a small cairn, head up a deer track into the forest until you reach the open heather and then head straight up to the trigpoint. Be careful to get the correct track on the way back down or you might end up in denser trees as I did. Fantastic views from the trigpoint.thejackrustles18/02/2018
Walk up from junction between B9119/A980 on a frosty morning. Nice views to the south.mcbboyd22/01/2017
