Circuit from Alva Glen. 6 of 6thekirkie pirate29/11/2023
Dedicated parking in Alva 100m N of golf club car park (NS885976). PF up the Alva Glen, crossing burn several times, then sticking to zig zags on steep W flank until gate and stile. Through gate, thin path fades out, then zig zag up on grass between bracken, to gully up Wee Torry (not recommended in descent unless you’ve been up this route before), on to Mid Cairn, then Bengengie Hill. ATV tk to Blairdenon Hill and round to Craighorn before col at NN888010, then pathless to col at NN894005 and up to Ben Ever. Up Ben Cleuch, greatly assisted by the wind, on to Andrew Gannel Hill and col at NN928004, up King’s Seat Hill and back to col. FP down E flank of Gannel Burn seems to be falling into disuse. Back along A91 to Alva, to give wind a chance to dry everything outIsbjorn21/09/2023
From Menstrie via Myreton Hill and Bengengie. Down on the south east side to small reservoir. Then the troubles started as I got mixed up in head high bracken and gorse on steep slopes. Hell. Took over an hour to get back one mile to Menstrie. Clackmannanshire completed as compensation.Campbell Singer20/07/2023

Last of a circuit of 4 hills. Descended via the dam to the SW, crossed it, then steeply up hill for a couple of mins to a gate, then back on good tracks to the Myretoun.sclater14/12/2022
Circular route from Alva Glen car park. Followed path and track to NE of The Nebit, then easily up to the summit. Returned and then climbed NE up track to reach summit of Ben Ever. Continued to Ben Buck and Ben Buck NE top. Used windfarm track and then pathless terrain to contour round NW of Ben Buck then easy climb to Craighorn. Continued on to Blairdenon Hill and S along long ridge to Bengengie Hill and Mid Cairn. Descended down SE spur and obvious gulley to reach path down W side of Alva Glen to reach car park. Some rain, but reasonable visibility for much of route.RobertP14/10/2022
A repeat. Well worth it for the views.bjewing29/09/2022
From Menstrie up zig zags then followed excellent grass track after gate and burn to the summit of Colsnaur Hill. Good going by fence then a dry crossing of Menstrie Moss to pick up atv then trod to Bengengie Hill. Headed out to Mid Cairn and back crossing the moss slightly further south then back by upward route. Fine day.SS25/04/2022
Good ATV track from Bengengie Hill. Great views from the cairn on Craig Leith (513m). Descended on grassy slopes to Balauharn Burn. Crossed over and walked down to the dam, then followed track down to the road. Solo.Dangerous Dave06/03/2022

West Ochil ramble from Alva Glen CP. Round of Nebit, Ever, Craighorn, Blairdenon, Bengengie and Leith. Sixth tump of the day, celebrated by raising both hands above head.Topographer5731/10/2019
Round of Craig Leith, Bengengie, Craighorn and The Nebit, starting from the delightful Alva Glen, following the signposted path and then straight up as previously described.Thearlaichdubh08/09/2019
Up the stunning Alva Glen from the car park, crossing on to the west side and a steep climb to Mid Cairn. Pleasant grassy path to Bengengie Hill then a boggy crossing of the Balquhain Burn to a stone wall. A path on the west side of this wall leads straightforwardly to Colsnaur Hill then down to Myreton Hill. A SE descent over grassy hillocks eventually brought us to an ATV trail, which led down to a builders yard (I think) then Back Road. The walker friendly Back Road leads straight back to Alva Glen car park. 3 hours in total.summitter01/09/2019
From lovely Alva Glen, steep pull up to Creag Leith, then Bengengie and Craighorn.neimcv02/04/2019
Alva Glen car park at NS 88453 97485 - Followed excellent public path which heads up alongside Alva Burn for about 1km and then up and along hillside to metal gate at 88369835 - From gate, steep hill path up past Rowan tree in gully and up to ridge near Wee Tory - Straightforward walk over Big Tory to summit cairn. Continued to Bengengie Hill, Blairdenon Hill, Craighorn and Ben Ever. (S)gerrybowes29/08/2018
From Alva Glen, along a typically excellent Ochils path. This was followed by a typically brutal Ochils hillside, and up an obvious gully.Pete R21/04/2018
From Bengegie Hill. Descended to sheepfold - not too steep, and then more steeply to the dam of the reservoir. Need to head west, across fence, to western branch of burn well above the confluence. Not obvious how to reach the minor road from the path near the sheep pens. It's do-able though! 1hr back to car from summit.Minto22/06/2017
Parked in Menstrie then up track before going off-piste to avoid gate and plantation to Myreton Hill. Then steeply down beside fence to climb back up to Colsnaur Hill, climbing a handy style halfway up. Then across to Bengengie Hill before descending the ridge to Mid Cairn [Craig Leith]. Then down to the sheepfold and across the dam back towards Menstrie with Jonathon, Norman, Nigel and Gavin.Dugswell222/06/2017
Evening outing over 3 tumps and one sTump.NormanW22/06/2017
Continuation from Bengengie Hill. Followed path steeply off summit, then south up to summit of Mid Cairn. To descend, followed path south to the crags. Lost route there and found myself working my way down steeply with difficulty to golf course, then east back to car park. Solo.Man of Kernow114/05/2016
