Topgrapher57's route, with a circuit from the mast compound of the cliff edge summit, sofa summit and bathtub. Great fun!Nick Down127/01/2024
P about 300m east of Dunearn House. A short distance E, then over a gate and up onto the east ridge. No fence or gorse issues.Topographer5729/12/2023
From Aberdour Silver Sands carpark north to Main Street then east on A921 to Humbie Mains farm road. Across busy road then just inside farm road took narrow path eastward through woods at first then open farm track to A909. Over A909 to gate with preferred routes posted on it, over gate, over stile, left along wall until gorse permitted access to summits. Returned by same route in torrential rain then brilliant sunshine.Jubilado06/07/2023
Great little hill fun to bagAndrew Simmons06/06/2023
Used the track to the mast. A pleasant little hill.hillsman24/02/2023
Bathtub and Sofa still in situ. Grassy cut footpaths around the summit make it a pleasant wander.summitter21/06/2022
From E. Track to mast then grassy path with short detour through breach in wall to right. Lovely little wooded ridge up to summit. Back to path and followed continuation along RH side of other wall to lower hill fort top and summit sofa.Lindsay M22/08/2021

Piano gone to see its tuner. Replaced by ornate golden settee. Much more practical if, like me, you've never had piano lessons. Bath still there, if you need a scrub up.Martin R20/07/2021
Clockwise circuit from Burntisland of Dunearn Hill [both tops] and The Binn.russell6103/01/2020
Round of Montquey, Dunearn, Baspard, Orrock and Stoneyhall. Made mistake of going straight up through vegetation W of Dunearn House, better to go up fields to E to mast and then summits. Visited both summits. Northerly one seems highest.Thearlaichdubh29/09/2019
En route to an Eddi Reader show at Kirkcaldy. I visited both tops, and was subsequently disappointed to learn that the piano is in fact on the lower summit. How hard is it to put a piano on the correct summit?Pete R24/04/2019
As RHW but there is a break in the wall at the west end. Met two men gathering and burning wood by the 2nd top.chrisbien01/04/2017
parked in a lay-by on A909 through gate at the start of the minor road, over stile, visited both tops.robertphillips18/03/2017
From sw as others, dead piano in stone fortifications. Then to N summit which is also 221m, clifftop knoll and slightly tricky wall climb; se end of loch has a 4 legged bathtub to add to the quirkiness of this Grand little hill.RHW14/11/2016
As Emphyrio, except no need to battle through any gorse once over the very handy stile; head left and around it, then up. Summit piano now in pieces. This hill is really not as hard as others make out, except it has two summits to visit - with the bonus of a lovely loch.Minto25/08/2015
Piano on summit not in working order!chalky195326/03/2015
From the lay-by to the head of the loch. Then ascend alongside the dyke to the top. Very steep. Lovely summit with great views and Scots Pine adding to that Surrey feeling. Found the top had a old piano next to it. By far the most enthralling hill in Fife, so far!Play2End26/02/2015
Ascended from a small lay-by (can hold around 2-3 cars) on the west side of the A909 at NT209871). Did this route as an addition to a longer walk to The Binn. Climbed over a gate just north of the turn off to the the minor road which leads to Kirkcaldy. I then crossed the field to climb over the wall by means of a tall wooden steps stile. Battled through gorse to get to the summit. Descended the same way.Emphyrio30/12/2012
Parked at entrance to loch, followed path along southern shore then straight up. Not recommended. Easier going back down NW-ishagentmancuso21/05/2011
Request from landowner is that walkers stay away from the farm area, including the sheep grazing area on the north west slopes. Due to too many people (some of whom don't understand the concept of responsible access) the previous arrangement whereby walkers were able to park at the farm and walk from there is no longer available. His preferred route for walkers to use to access the hill is from the Standing Stane Road to the east at NT 21873 87299 (the track to the comms mast). Information posted April 2021.Fife Walkingblank
