Round of Craigmawhannal, Hoodens Hill, Macaterick, Craigfionn and Maccullum from parking at 456934 junction on forest drive. Straight across from Hoodens using deer tracks to work out where to cross the deep and wide burn. Found a sand bar so feet didn't get wet. Tussocky slog up E side of Macaterick. | Thearlaichdubh | 25/05/2019 |

1st of 11 Hills on an epic and exhausting traverse from the Forest Drive next to Loch Riecawr to the minor lane leading from Caldons near Glen Trool.
I crossed the Dam Wall then was on a very wet forest ride(felled remnants poking out of a flooded landscape) leading to a forest ride to a track to the West shore of Loch Macaterick. I made the mistake of trying to cross the the Loch inlet but it was too wide and deep so followed it West and crossed on boulders then looped back before veering off to climb direct with intermittent granite outcrops before arriving at the rocky top. Very windy. Summit difficult to determine as where the land slopes up the outcrops slope the other way but explored all potentials! Descended East to cross Eglin Lane at virtually the only spot possible before climbing up Gordon's Loup heading for Hoodens Hill... | Dazingdale | 11/10/2018 |
