Logged Descriptions  (logged by 34 users)ByDate of Ascent
12th and final hill on a 33.3km route from the Glen Afton road, climbing Yarngallows Knowe, Struthers Brae, Auchincally Hill, Strandlud Hill, Milray Hill, Craignane, White Hill, Meaul, Upper Hill, Dugland and Windy Standard, heading NW back onto the track and following it a short distance North then veering off to follow ride NNE crossing the burn and upto the track heading Nnw to a junction and taking the Eastern route, curving North over the Sheel Burn then NW to junction of tracks this time heading for summit. I recorded 548m @ NS 62108 04152 and 546m @ NS 62043 04199. I descended Se to join the track and followed this to the 434m spot height then through the pine trees down to the dam track, following this all the way to where i had parked at NS63094 06252. A tough day with 1600m of ascent/descent.Dazingdale22/09/2019

Parked in front of large green prefab in Craigdarroch & up Struther's Brae. From Struther's Brae, followed wind farm track to unmarked summit which lies about 40m SW of Turbine No. 12. Continued to Windy Standard, visiting Wedder Hill & Millaneoch Hill en route. (S)gerrybowes23/01/2019

Loop of Glen Afton from water works (car park closed but plenty room) taking in Black Hill, Struther's Brae, Windy Standard, Alhang, Alwhat, Meikledodd Hill, Blacklorg Hill, Cannock Hill and Craigbraneoch Hill. Excellent walking though lots of new wind farm stuff (restricted currently as construction site).SS14/07/2018
From Afton CP via William's Castle, then Black Hill, Wedder Hill, Millaneoch Hill, Windy Standard, Jedburgh Knees, Trostan Hill, Dugland, across the Clennoch Burn to Keoch Rig and return. Afton is now surrounded by the sprawling and expanding ugliness of Brocklog Rig wind farm. To add insult to injury, construction workers were putting up a radio mast on the summit of Keoch Rig as I arrived.Nick Down124/03/2018
Lots of construction traffic for wind farm. On a sunday i descretly walked the tracks and no one qustioned my prescence. The simmit is now base of a turbine.cjo29/10/2017
