From the A713. Now wind farm road which I left halfway up and back onto the old forestry track. Followed this to the end. Short steep climb into the conifers and onto the HP | Andrew Simmons | 28/02/2024 |
Parked at disused pit (NX 5342 9916). Benbrack first then across to here. Wide break from Sunkhead Moss, then a narrow break from NS 52705 01892 goes to within ~20m of summit, so bit of a push through the conifers for that last bit. Previous logs sound a bit daunting, it's an easy hill. | jonglew | 28/04/2021 |
P A713 & followed forestry roads to due north of summit. It's possible to get within a short distance E of the summit by following narrow gaps then a quick bash. | agentmancuso | 13/04/2019 |
Park at HP of A713, then up forest road to find the correct ride. Work your way up, then 200m of really dense mature sitka spruce. Found a tiny clearing which my GPS read as the top. Lots of windthrow blocking entrances to rides and within forest. Dreadful hill. | Thearlaichdubh | 10/04/2019 |
Drove decent forest road to turning space NE of summit, baggers path then narrow gap in spruce (starting NS 52580 02269) leading to wide firebreak, followed this L til just E of summit then into level dense spruce, HP somewhat indeterminate | RHW | 27/10/2018 |
campbells hill and benbrack from parking opp track entrance, tracks, firebreaks, and 30 m sitka bashing to CH top, fb south and tussocks to benbrack, down to road at edge of trees, ground wet today. | robertphillips | 11/10/2018 |
3rd tump of 12 and 2nd of a 11 tump S loop to Dalmellington; after Benbrack continuing over Sunkhead Moss and into the trees. After following a tortuous route i came to an open area close to the summit height, the highest point recorded was about 20m inside the forest. Continuing via a forest ride to a track heading for Windy Standard.. | Dazingdale | 10/10/2018 |
Young trees at summit but a few open breaks made for easy access from end of track to North. | cjo | 24/08/2018 |
After Benbrack. Obvious wide firebreak from NS528016. When this meets a contouring break, head right for twenty metres and you'll find a much narrower break through young trees, which gets you to the open summit area with only a few minor thrashes | Colin Crawford | 05/05/2017 |
P 514013. Forest track to end at Glenmuck Craig then newly made track to very near the top. Back along track to N of Campbells Hill. Hard time in young trees. Best to approach from dried out lochan. | chrisbien | 23/03/2016 |
From minor road by Water of Deugh at NS 54986 00527. Over Campbells Hill, Windy Standard, Enoch Hill, Strandlud Hill and Craignane. | Alan Moore | 18/04/2014 |
