From road end for a round of Pot Law, Bodesbeck Law, Nowtrig Head, Mid Rig, Bell Craig, Andrewhinney Hill, Trowgrain Middle, Herman Law and Peniestone Knowe.rhalstead02/06/2022
1st trip with my new 2nd hand Thule bike carrier, parked at top of Ettrick valley road and cycled down to Brockhoperig. Then hiked up to Herman Law, followed by Trowgrain Middle and Andrewhinney Hill. A shower came in as I approached Andrewhinney Hill. But dry mostof the day. Continued SW over Bell Craig, Mid Rig then Bodesveck Law. I descended back to the car.chillyman807/05/2022
Lovely ridge walk, very peaceful, little wildlife. Company: Soloiandesbottes04/10/2021
Part of 15 mile Moffat Dale ridge walk, from Herman Law to Bodesbeck Law. 3500ft ascent. Room for two cars in lay-by in woods at 2026 1609. Followed fence line along tops, all the way, so intermittent low cloud not a problem. See Herman Law for details.Toby-and-Dion26/06/2021
Solo. From the road-end in Ettrick Dale followed the track through the forest and then open ground to Bodesbeck Law. Easy ridge to Nowtrig Head, Mid Rig, Bell Craig, Andrewhinney Hill and Herman Law. Descent to road at Brockhoperig. A kind farmer gave me a lift shortly after I had set off to walk back up the road to the car. A beautiful summer day.pwbellarby22/06/2021

Verge parking NT 2337 1314, by a river level monitoring hut. Straight up from the road to Cossars Hill -> Sandtrae Knowe -> Herman Law -> Trowgrain Middle -> Andrewhinney Hill -> Bell Craig -> Mid Rig before here. Then continued along the ridge to Bodesbeck Law -> Pot Law. Picked up bike at end of public road for nice downhill 4 mile ride back to car.jonglew24/05/2021
Parked on the grass verge in the turning circle at the end of the road out of Ettrick which is also the Southern Upland way, route took in Pot Law, Bodesbeck Law, Nowtrig head, Mid rig, Bell Craig, Andrewhinney hill, Trowgrain middle and Herman law returning over sandtrae knowe and cossars hill to walk back along the road. 12.6mile in five hours and twenty minutes.WAYNE ROWLETT07/10/2020

From Bodesbeck Law. Had this walk in mind for years and was expecting it to be good. It surpasses expectations. Glad of my polarized shades, which make the hills to the west magically stand out through haze. This is fine hill-walking. Surprisingly quiet skies too. Stopped for a chat with a runner who'd come from the bothy. On to Mid Rig.Wycombe Wanderer20/04/2019

Came over from Andrewhinney Hill and back up here a few hours later on the way back from Pot Law. Solo.Dangerous Dave20/07/2017
Parked at the end of the Ettrickdale road and took the forest track signed 'Ettrick Horseshoe and Bodesbeck Law' onto the ridge. Then Bodesbeck Law - Nowtgrain Head - Mid Rig (DT) - Bell Craig - Andrewhinny Hill - Mid Rig - Trowgrain Middle (sadly, the unremarkable dome west of the fence seems to be slightly higher than the splendid cairn by the fence) - Herman Law - Sandtrae Knowe - Cossars Hill and back by the single track road. A glorious day with views across both Moffatdale and Ettrickdale throughout the ridge walk.Nick Down117/06/2017

End to end walk of entire Andrewhinney Ridge with Rick & Jen. Herman Law to Capel Fell including small detour to include Pot Law. Split up after Capel Fell - Rick & Jen to finish over Broken Back while I picked off Sailfoot Law. Two vehicles start at Birkhill, parking for one without blocking farm entrance (nobody in to ask permission) to finish at Selcoth Fish Farm at foot of Sailfoot permission gained from Fish Farm. Brilliant day even with low visibility all day hard frost and frozen ground above about 550m.mntainman23/01/2017
Up from Birkhill and Herman Law through to Capel Fell with Jenx and Steve Smith. Crisp, misty day on fells with frozen ground, reasonable going on existing lines. Down to Sailfoot Fish Farm and second vehicle.nordicstar23/01/2017

A clear sunny day on the final day of a stay in Moffat. Left car with Martin66 near Birkhill & followed signposted walkers route through soft snow to start with & then patchier harder snow higher up to summit of Herman Law. Then fine gentle ridge walk over Trowgrain Middle, Mid Rig, Andrewhinney Hill, Bell Craig, the second Mid Rig, Nowtrig Head & finally Bodesbeck Law. By now a long way from the car, we reversed the route back as far as the col to the NE of Bell Craig & made a long slanting descent back to the road & walked the last 1.5km along the road in the gathering darkness. Easy but rewarding walk.NotReallyABagger02/12/2012
