Roadside verge parking just S of Chapelhope Burn bridge (NT 2307 1893). Paper Hill first then on to here via Middle Hill to retain height. On to Gool Knowe, Watch Law, Oxcleuch Rig and return for a strenuous 14k round over poor and heathery snow covered ground with a very steep ascent and descent from/to the road.jonglew30/03/2022

P at start of track to Syart. Along track then steeply up from ~ 410m. Back along ridge then onto track. Track disappeared but found it higher up. Straight over top of Gool Knowe - Shielhope Hill - down Rodie Cleuch to track. Difficult snow.chrisbien31/03/2013
