From A701 car park NT055127.BaggerGutt23/03/2024
Car at 055.128 - up forestry track, followed track to east along the edge of the wood. From 058.139 a atv track / trod leads to the top. Returned the same in reverse.Moorponder10/10/2023
Fair parking at start of track (NT055127). After 100m took Annandale Way path to Annandale Hill –a mistake because the traverse to FBH track was unpathed and boggy. Returned back along track from gate at NT054138Isbjorn02/09/2023
8th and last for the day keeping generally to the forest edge from Craigmaid with D.Dave. Surprising lack of water crossing Glencraigie Burn and Cor water despite many days of heavy rain. Dropped to forest entrance at 055138 and return to car at wide track entrance on A701 at 055127. Fast speed as ground was frozen, sunny, clear.bolton02/01/2023
From Craigmaid. Followed forest edge to Cor Water then a steep climb on frozen tussocks up to Colin Craig. Along by fence to summit. With bolton. Revisit.Dangerous Dave02/01/2023
Final hill of the day. After Crown of Scotland, followed some tyres tracks to the abandoned smallholding. Followed the stone road to the pen then straight up to the cairn summit. B-lined for the stone road which took me back to the A701 Beef Tub. Hill 10/10.JAdair9713/08/2022
Followed NormanW route.Andrew Simmons10/04/2022
From 055127, up by the trig on Annanhead , returning via the road through the Tilhill WoodNormanW12/10/2021
From Crown of Scotland via Earlshaugh. Followed ATV track 200 metres south of fence line. Not too steep that way! Descended ssw to pick up track through forest to return to A701. KeithByTheC04/08/2021
Same as gerrybowes, as far as summit, then back the same way. Surprisingly good all-round views, on a sunny evening. Far too many turbines though - I really hope the proposed wind farm at Scoop Hill is rejected!Toby-and-Dion22/06/2021
Parking on A701 at NT 0553 1274. Took Annandale Way until it headed due S then continued on the county border to Whitehope Knowe then headed N: Annanhead Hill trig pillar -> Great Hill -> Chalk Rig Edge -> Whitehope Heights & Knowe -> Ballman Hill -> Barncorse Hill -> Crown of Scotland -> Foel Burn Head. Pleasant 15km round despite all the hills in cloud.jonglew30/03/2021
Fantastic frost and sunshine. Circular walk from west along undulating ridge to Whitehope Heights, then around to north via all tops on the way. With the two spaniels, R, Mike and Mandy.jenx30/11/2019
Parked at track entrance off A701 above Devil's Beef Tub. Walked over Annandale Hill to Chalk Rig Edge on one of the best ridge walks in the area and the only one where we saw anyone this week. We continued our walk to Whitehope Heights. From there we returned back over Chalk Rig Edge and the Annandale Way to a little gorge which gives dramatic views of the Devil's Beef Tub. We turned away and struggled over tussocks to a sheepfold where we picked up ATV tracks to the HP. Then to pt 503m., tracks to forest ride leading back to the starting point. Good views in fine weather. With brother, Petepwheeler18/09/2019
unmarked in rough grass at fence junction. Rain and low cloud. Returned to car by Ananhead Hill.Denise 05/07/2019
Parked in wide entrance to forest track at NT 05536 12720 - Up track to gate at top of forest, turned right & along vehicle track to high point at 058139 - ATV tracks up SW ridge to summit. Continued to Great Hill, Chalk Rig Head & Whitehope Heights. (S)gerrybowes27/06/2019
Walked over from Annanhead Hill in mist and rain. Followed the forest fence at first and then ascended on compass bearing. The summit being at the far end of a flat ridge meant more navigation.JohnW29/05/2019
Circuit out from end of forest track, Annanhead hill, Chalk Rig Edge, Whitehope Heights, Whitehope Knowe, Barncorse Knowe, Crown of Scotland & Foal Burn Head. Retuning down forest track. Improved weather, clear but a bitter cold wind.Mountain Goat27/01/2019
From Chalk Rig Edge.summitter15/12/2017

Parked near Devils Beef Tub, climbed to trig on Annanhead Hill, bagged Great Hill, then cut across rough wet moorland to Foal Burn Head, back to trig and down to car. Great views of Devils Beef Tub and the smashed up van at its foot. Cloudy weather, the big mountains like Hart Fell were in cloud.DanTrig14/08/2015
