From Priesthaugh, parked on the grass by the wall just past the track. Track to Priesthaugh Hill, up ATV track to Skefill Fell, then Caudcleuch Head and along the fenceline to GreatMoor Hill, and Maiden Paps Off SW to enter firebreak at big fallen tree then easily down on a path (was marked on old 1:50k not on new maps). Right along track for 0.5km, then take path marked on map in Westerley direction for 0.5km (a few fallen traas to pass by) to hit next track. Turn left the follow track all the way to edge of forest. Follow wall to Garden plantation, then left and over ford to pick track past farm buildings and down to road. Left along road to Priesthaugh. With KeithByTheC and Carol 12.5miles.JulieB08/09/2023
From Scaw'd Law. Down SW to path in firebreak. Entrance hidden by storm damage. Then NE & NW to firebreak heading W. Seriously hampered by storm blown trees until forest track. Followed S, W then N to gate at forest edge. Then grass to ford & track to Dod KeithByTheC08/09/2023
Parking at quarry NT525058. Shankend Farm, under Rly bridge then R and up to join track S which joins up with the forest road network at NT513047. FP up NE flank closed due to harvesting. Grassy track heads up around W flank to sharp R bend, where a bit of red tat in a tree identifies the start of an FP up the S flank. Exit onto open hillside is blocked by windblow, go W 20m. Aptly named but bigger and further than initial appearance suggests.Isbjorn06/04/2023
After Greatmoor Hill, great worthwhile detour to these attractive paps. Solo after Peel Fell round in morning.Nick Canute18/09/2022
From parking at the Whitrope Heritage Centre, found the hard to spot firebreak, thanks Ger and Jon. Easily to top a nice profile to this/these hills.NormanW01/09/2022

Followed path through grass from Scaw’d Law. Back same way and up to Greatmoor Hill. Solo.Dangerous Dave23/08/2021
From the Heritage Centre, parking for 2-3 cars ~130m up the dirt road at NT 5253 0031. Took track to 52120020 then rough break heading due N 400m, then a slightly better break NW for 450m to break out of forest. Followed fenceline till past clear fell for a divert up to Leap Hill, rejoining the fenceline at 5127 0119 which was followed to 5030 0140 after which due W to hit ridgeline just before Berry Knowe. Up to Greatmoor Hill, ridgeline to Scaw'd Law, then continued on to here. Popped up onto the lower pap after then return for a 12.3km round.jonglew08/08/2021
Greatmoor Hill, Maiden Paps, Scawd Law & Leap Hill. Super day out. Starting from NT525003,P area near Whitrobe rail heritage centre, then using the (not too easy to spot)firebreak starting at NT521002. Maiden Paps are excellent!ger11/06/2021
From Greatmoor Hill, a very pleasant walk taking in the far Pap first. Great viewpoint! With Degsy and Ger.bolton11/06/2021
After Leap Hill: Parked at entrance to Sundhope (could also park at radio mast). Track through forest, then soon right through gate onto obvious ATV - goes about 2km up the hill. Then tussocks to forest - easy to gain SW ridge. On to Maiden Paps via boggy forest edge. There are new forest tracks which might help the cycling baggers.PGCE13/03/2021
What a pair of beauties!thenomad06/08/2020
From Windrope car park in brutal conds. through chest-high, soaking grass, dodgy old forest brash and finally up onto Black Rig. More plodding before easy Scawd Law ascent and more easy walking to the Paps. Wind getting on for 60mph I'd guess so quick up and down to both then retraced steps whole way back as visibility dropped to around 50m.iangpark12/09/2019
Parked opposite mast at 513985 - Track towards Sundhope & 100yd or so before farmhouse up ATV track, through a couple of gates, along Sundhope Rig & up to within 50yd of Scaw’d Law - Out & back along path, faint in places, to Maiden Paps - SW to Greatmoor Hill; a bit rough to col, but better terrain on climb - Back to col & then picked up well-used ATV track which joins route of ascent at 500015 - Back to car. From Leap Hill, weather now misty, wet and windy, no views. Much less fun than last time here while doing Greatmoor.Aye Jimmy17/02/2019
From Heritage Centre to fb through young trees then slog to Scaw'd Law. Worth it for Maiden Paps then tough going again to Greatmoor Hill. Saw ATV track from above and cut corner on way back. All very wet underfoot though.SS30/12/2018
scawd law and maiden paps from the heritage centre. cp.robertphillips08/07/2016
Parked at Sundhope farm exit. Cloud was low so could see nothing from what was meant to be an excellent viewing mountain. Shame. Good navigational exercise in cloud. Company: Soloiandesbottes12/05/2016
From nr Lime Kiln Edge via Leap Hill & Scaw'd Law. Mist and snow.agentmancuso10/04/2016
Parked car at Shankend Viaduct then followed forestry track to forest ride below Maiden Paps, steep short hike onto top, amazing views.alanm901/04/2016
Scaw'd Law, Maiden Paps and Greatmoor Hill. Parked in Heritage Centre CP at 526,003 then up firebreak, then followed forest edge to Scaw'd Law. Then out to MP and back then on to Greatmoor Hill. Returned same way. Probably the shortest distance to bag these three, but no tracks and hellish boggy.Crib Goch23/08/2015
Old track from Scawd Law to base of hill then steeply up on lush grass and bilberry bushes, lovely grassy top with extensive views.Anton17/06/2014
P on main rd just N of 263 spot ht. Track to SW of MP then up firebreak and steep climb up. Followed faint track to Scaw'd Law. Down firebreak to NW then back along track. Up firebreak S of Hillend.chrisbien17/06/2013
