Logged Descriptions  (logged by 34 users)ByDate of Ascent
From Innerleithen. Followed path to Traquair then path running S just to E of Curly Burn. Veered off path to W and up to beallach and on to Curley Cairn (open ground looks higher than cairn in forest). Was planning to continue to Paddock Slack but high fence blocked easy access, so on to Welshie Law, Glengaber Hill and Peatshank Head. Returned via path by Glenagaber.RobertP19/12/2023
Yarrow. Parking on roadside verge just E of the bridge at NT361280. The FP along the SW flank of Deuchar Hill starts as a good track, but has essentially rewilded beyond the mapped, but non-existent, building. Instead, a good ATV track goes directly up the S flank of Glengaber Hill, over the top, then W to Welshie Law, on W to col, then SW down the ridge, though the last km is very vague and returned me to the road at Whitefield Steading700m W of where the FP is supposed to join the roadIsbjorn20/04/2023
From Yarrow, parking roadside verge just E of bridge (NT 3602 2797). Good track most of the way up to Peatshank Head, then followed fenceline across to Glengaber Hill, and continued on to here. On to Curly Cairn and Paddock Slack. Pleasant 8.75mile round.jonglew09/11/2022
Not a bad hill but some dire terrain through new plantation from Paddock Slack via old fence line down to Black Grain. Would be better to stay higher near the older tree line.alda21/10/2021
Parked at junction in Yarrow for a circuit of 3: Peatshank Head, Glengaber Hill, Welshie Law. Easy going, mainly on ATV tracks.PGCE17/03/2021
Easy verge parking on S. side of Yarrow Bridge at NT 3579 2762 - Up lane opposite & shortly after passing church, through farm gate & across sheep pasture to 2nd gate on right - Through gate & up to gate in top corner of field at 351282 - Up over short, sheep grazed pasture to Nout Hill & then ATV track up ridge; this disappeared about 600m from top, but fairly easy going over rough pasture to the unmarked summit. From forest track to gate/stile (fb a thing of the past) then followed fence out and back to Glangaber Hill over Welshie Law. Deer fences (stile where needed and electric fence mean you need to be right side). Returned by Paddock Slack following fence. Again stile and track back to car rather than fight through deforested area.SS10/11/2019
